LG Zero with 5-inch HD display, metal body, 4G LTE to roll out globally starting this week

LG introduced Class, its latest smartphone with metal body back in September in Korea. Today the company has announced that the smartphone will launch as Zero in some global markets. It has a 5-inch HD display with a curved glass offering a 3D effect, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor, runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera (same sensor used in the LG G4), similar to the Class, but the Zero has 1.5GB of RAM instead of 2GB of RAM. Marshmallow update rolling out to LG G4 in some parts of Europe

The LG G4 is one of the first Android smartphones outside the Nexus and Android One family to receive the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The roll out began in the later half of October with G4s in Poland getting the update first. Now, the update is apparently hitting the G4 across parts of Europe.

LG has announced LG Ray X190, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 5.5-inch HD on-cell display, is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592M processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). LG introduced V10, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the new V series last month. We already brought you the unboxing, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit 20nm processor that has two bigger ARM Cortex A57 cores clocked at 1.82GHz per core and four smaller ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.44GHz per core with 600 MHz Adreno 418 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM, 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) display, along with a 2.1-inch (160 x 1040 pixels) screen on top and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) with LG UX on top. LG Pay mobile payment service announced

LG today announced LG Pay, its own mobile payment service, after Apple PaySamsung Pay and Android Pay. The Korean giant has partnered with Shinhan Card and KB Kookmin Card to prepare for the launch of LG Pay in South Korea soon. LG did not announce when it will roll out the mobile payment service in Korea or other markets. Sony to develop its own mobile processor in 2016?

Sony Mobile will reportedly follow Apple, Samsung and Huawei to develop its own mobile processor for its Xperia smartphones, according to a report from DigiTimes. The report also says that LG will also introduce its own processor. LG NUCLUN 2 processor was already spotted on GeekBench few months back, confirming its existence, after the company’s failed attempt with the Odin chipset. LG Spirit LTE and G4 Stylus 4G with VoLTE, VoWiFi launching in India through Reliance Retail

LG today announced that it will launch Spirit LTE and G4 Stylus 4G smartphones with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) in India in partnership with Reliance Retail. These features will enabled faster transmission of data and voice, said the company. LG launched the 3G version of the Spirit smartphone and the G4 Stylus in India earlier this year. LG introduced LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, the world’s first Android Wear smartwatch with LTE support last month. Today, the Korean company has announced that the smartwatch will roll out worldwide starting from this month. It packs a 1.38-inch 348 PPI display, has GPS and it works with iOS too, but LG says that cellular enabled features will vary across Android and iOS. LG V10 Unboxing

LG introduced the company’s new flagship V10 smartphone in the V series last month. It went on sale in Korea early October and started rolling out globally from the United States, China and Hong Kong last week. The international version of the V10 was not on sale in Hong Kong, but we managed to pick a Korean version of the V10 (LG-F600L) for LG U+ for about HK$ 4100, which coverts to about Rs. 35,000. LG V10 global roll out begins this week starting from the US, China and Hong Kong

LG announced its flagship V10 smartphone in the new V series earlier this month. It went on sale in Korea on October 8th, today the company has announced it will start rolling out worldwide from this week. The LG V10 packs a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Quantum display, a second 2.1-inch (160 x 1040 pixels) screen and dual 5-megapixel front-facing camera cameras that has two separate lenses to capture standard 80 degree selfies or wide-angle selfies of 120 degrees. LG Q3 2015 profits down 37% YoY due to weak smartphone sales

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 14.03 trillion won (US$ 12 billion) in Q3 2015, 4.7% down compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 294 billion won (US$ 251.5 million), down 36.77% from the same period the previous year. Net profit was 124.8 billion won (US$ 106.76 million) during the quarter, down from 202.7 billion won a year earlier. Reason for less revenue is due to weak smartphone sales, but it reported strong earnings in home appliances and high-end televisions.
