LG unveiled its flagship G8 ThinQ smartphone at its MWC event last month. Today the company has announced that it will begin pre-orders for the phone starting from Korea from March 15th till March 21st at a price of 897,600 Korean Won (US$ 790 / Rs. 55,280 approx.), which it says is the lowest price tag ever for a flagship LG smartphone. It will go on sale starting from March 22nd and alsocomes with 1-year free screen replacement and a free case as a part of launch offer.

LG has announced that its 2019 premium TV lineup featuring advanced OLED and NanoCell TVs will begin rolling out this week. This year, OLED models will make up 20% of the company’s high-end TV portfolio and with demand for OLED TVs expected to grow to 3.6 million units this year, 7 million units in 2020 and 10 million in 2021. It is powered by Snapdragon 855 with Snapdragon X50 5G Modem and has a new Vapor Chamber heat-dissipation system that efficiently keeps the internal temperatures low. It has a 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED screen, has triple rear cameras with 16MP 107-degree super wide-angle, 12MP standard and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. It has an 8-megapixel front camera and replaces the 3D ToF sensor on the G8 with a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens. It has a 6.1-inch FullVision OLED display, is powered by Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM, runs Android Pie, has triple rear cameras, 16MP 107-degree super wide-angle, 12MP standard and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. It has 3D ToF front camera that measures the distance between the subject and the camera in millimeters to control the intensity of the background blur up to 256 levels for selfies with more depth. LG has introduced Q9 One, the company’s new Android One smartphone in Korea. It has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision display, is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, meets MIL-STD 810G requirements, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC. This was introduced as G7 One back in August last year at the IFA. The company recently introduced the Q9 smartphone in Korea.

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 15.77 trillion won (US$ 13.99 billion) for the fourth quarter that ended December 31, 2018, which is down 7% compared to the same quarter last year, as expected. It posted profits of 75.7 bilion won (US$ 67.1 million), down 79.3% YoY, while net profit was down 80.7 billion won from 182.8 billion won a year earlier.
