HTC A11 could be a mid range device with 64 bit processor

It looks like HTC is preparing a mid range smartphone as per series of tweets from popular leakster @upleaks.  Dubbed as A11, for now the device will be from HTC’s Desire line and is running on a Snapdragon 410 processor. This is the first ever 64-bit SoC from Qualcomm that was unveiled in December of last year. It has a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU, and an Adreno 306 GPU.

Oppo R833T mid range smartphone revealed in China

While flagships like the N1 keep coming, Oppo has sought to gain marketshare and mind share with its mid range devices too. It started with the Oppo R819, and now a new Oppo R833T mid range smartphone has been revealed in China. It’s a 4.3″ device with modest specifications, which is similar to the ones we have here in the Indian mid range market. The device runs on a 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7 processor and has 1 GB of RAM, with 4 GB of internal storage augmented with a micro SD expansion slot if needed. There is also a 5 MP camera on the back with a single LED flash and this phone unsurprisingly runs on the company’s own Color OS, with Android 4.2.2 underneath. The phone is undoubtedly aimed at the low-mid end range of smartphones which is the fastest growing segment in a market like China or India.

Qualcomm unveils new Snapdragon 400 Quad Core chip MSM8926, with in-built multi mode LTE

Qualcomm, one of the leading chip manufacturers for mobile devices, has just unveiled a new variant of the Snapdragon 400 chipset, with support for Quad Core processors and multi mode 3G/4G LTE connectivity. This move enables Qualcomm to capture some of the lost low-end chip marketshare that has been recently been inundated with chipsets from companies like MediaTek. The MSM8926 chip, as it is codenamed, adds support for quad core Cortex A7 processors and mainly, multi mode 3G/4G LTE connectivity, which will enable mass market devices to sport LTE modems at very low prices.

Samsung Galaxy R hitting UK by the end of July

We recently told you that Samsung is launching little brother of Samsung Galaxy S2 which is known as the Samsung Galaxy Z and it’s a cheap alternative of Samsung’s flagship device. It was only introduced in Sweden first but now it looks like Samsung is planning to launch it in UK too as CNET is reporting that Samsung will launch it as Samsung Galaxy R and it will hit UK by the end of July, and I am sure this is good news for all people who loves SGS2 but it’s too expensive for them. At the moment, we don’t know which carrier or retailer is launching it and for how much? But I am sure the carriers and retailers who are interested in this device will be announcing it soon.
