Google has announced an update to its Maps, bringing two visual features that will add a lot more detail in land features and in street information. With these two visual updates, users will be able to easily understand and visualise what an area looks like, simple through the map view itself.
Google has announced a very useful feature for its suite of Nest devices and smart displays called Multi-room audio control. It will allow users to dynamically group and control multiple cast-enabled Nest devices in their home, with sliders to each individual speaker’s volume.

It looks Google will soon offer only one video conferencing app, as they are reportedly looking into replacing their consumer focused Duo app with their enterprise focussed Meet app. The decision was made after Duo, Messages, and the Phone app was brought under the leadership of G Suite’s head Javier Soltero, who stated that it did not make sense for both apps to exist simultaneously.

Google has finally announced a new version of WearOS that is based on Android 11, upgrading from the current version that is based on Android 9. With it, Google is bringing multiple improvements focused around performance and power along with simplified pairing and support for Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear 4100 and 4100+ platforms.
Over the past few months, Google has been working towards adding features to their video conferencing tool, Meet, and their education tool, Classroom. The Lookout app for Android is an app developed by Google that uses computer vision to help blind or low-vision people get information about their surroundings. Google has announced a new update to the app, adding two new modes, improved app navigation for better accessibility and also expanded the list of compatible devices.
With Google’s Knowledge Graph and Google Search cards, it is quite easy to find information about famous individuals. However, that is not the case with less famous people and to change that Google has created the ability for people to individually create their online presence with their own virtual visiting card, called People Cards.

Google introduced Pixel 4a earlier this week and also confirmed that Pixel 5 with 5G support will release later this year. Now the company has confirmed the discontinuation of the Pixel 4 series — Pixel 4 and 4 XL in less than a year of launch. Right now, both the smartphones are not available for sale in the official Google Store in the US. From now on, it will be available only through 3rd party retailers as remaining units sell-through.
