BlackBerry World for BlackBerry 10 to include Movies and DRM-free Music

RIM already announced that the new BlackBerry World Store would include Videos and Music section, now the company has detailed their partners, and the list of countries that would get them initially, just a day before the BlackBerry 10 launch. Music downloads would be available DRM-free for 18 countries including India, and the Movies and TV show downloads and rental would be initially available in US, UK and Canada. RIM launches BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10


Research In Motion (RIM) has launched BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, Enterprise Mobility Management Solution that offers device management, security, and mobile applications management for BlackBerry PlayBook and BlackBerry smartphones including the BlackBerry 10 smartphones. BlackBerry World Conference renamed as BlackBerry Live

RIM has announced that the BlackBerry World conference would be renamed as BlackBerry Live from this year. At the BlackBerry Jam Asia last November, RIM announced that the BlackBerry App World application marketplace would be rebranded to the BlackBerry World, which had seen the transition starting from yesterday with Videos and Music expected soon. Leak reports Gtalk and Twitter to be integrated with BB10 O.S

BlackBerry 10 may introduce BBM Video, Screen Sharing to BBM

It has been hinted more than once that video chat will be making its way to BBM once BlackBerry 10 rolls out. CrackBerry have got their hand on leaked slides which give us a glimpse of what could be the long awaited video calling service for BlackBerry users. Additionally it is believed that users will be able to share their screen which would be a killer feature for productivity oriented users.

BlackBerry 10 QWERTY handset shows up

RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry 10 based devices are no secret and have shown up more than a few times. Today, we got a glimpse at what might be the first QWERTY equipped device running BlackBerry OS 10. Named the “BlackBerry X10”, the handset brings a Bold 9900 inspired design to the struggling smartphone manufacturer’s next generation line up.

RIM and Nokia enter into patent licensing agreement

To resolve existing patent litigation between RIM and Nokia, the two companies have decided to enter into a licensing agreement. Nokia had previously demanded  a sales injunction on BlackBerry over the Finnish company’s patents around WiFi networks. While the specific terms of the agreement remain confidential, the financial structure will include a one time payment and on-going payments to Nokia.

RIM announces Q3 earnings: $114 million net loss, $2.7 billion revenue, sales down 51% YoY

Blackberry manufacturer, RIM, today announced its third quarter earnings report. The company has reported losses of $114 million which is equivalent to $0.22 per share. Revenues were $2.7 billion during the quarter ending December 2012. The company has once again managed to beat analyst predictions who estimated losses to to the tune of $0.35 per share.

BlackBerry Z10 pictured in black, white in leaked marketing material

Another day and yet another image of the upcoming BlackBerry 10 based handset has turned up on the internet. Called the BlackBerry Z10, the company is expected to eschew using its traditional four digit model number naming scheme. The full touch smartphone will run the QNX based BB10 OS and is expected to be revealed on 30th January at an event in New York.

Twitter for BlackBerry v4.0 update brings better navigation with new tabs

Twitter for BlackBerry has been updated to version 4.0 that brings new streamlined design and new tabs for better interaction. Connect tab shows you who retweeted, favorited and followed you, and also shows mentions. The Discover tab shows Trends, Who to follow suggestions and makes it easy to browse categories. The Me tab shows Messages, lists and favorited Tweets. These new tabs were available for Twitter for Android and iPhone last December. LinkedIn for BlackBerry v2.1 update brings Groups and Contact Sync

LinkedIn has updated the BlackBerry app to version 2.1 that brings new features including option to sync and merge LinkedIn connections with existing BlackBerry contacts, Groups and More tab to view saved and recommended jobs and access, add, view and participate in the groups. New images of BlackBerry 10 L-Series phone has surfaced on a Vietnamese website . First Hands-on video of the BlackBerry 10 L-Series phone appeared back in October. These new images show the hardware in detail, including metal keys for the volume rocker and power button, micro USB and HDMI ports on the side, NFC support, micro SIM slot, micro SD card slot and a 1800 mAh battery.
