RIM today confirmed at Blackberry Jam Asia that BlackBerry 10 devices will be coming out in both Full Touch and QWERTY editions. This puts the rumours about RIM killing QWERTY keyboard to rest.

Blackberry App World to be rebranded as BlackBerry World
Today at BlackBerry Jam Asia , RIM announced that the BlackBerry App World application marketplace would be soon renamed as BlackBerry World as the company is gearing up for the launch of BlackBerry 10 on Jan 30 2013 next year.Martyn Mallick, VP of Global Alliances and Business Development at Research In Motion told us that the rebranding had to be done as the App World was offering a lot more than apps now and offers music, video , magazines and a lot more.

Blackberry Messenger 7 introduces free voice calls over WiFI
RIM today announced that they plan to bring voice capabilities to its popular BlackBerry Messenger service. The service will also bring additional features like integration with customer’s BlackBerry ID. Customers can initiate a BBM Voice Call directly or switch over to one from a BBM text chat.

BlackBerry 10 launching worldwide on January 30th 2013
RIM has just announced that the BlackBerry 10 would be launched simultaneously in multiple countries at separate events around the world on 30th January 2013. RIM showed off first BlackBerry Dev Alpha device running BlackBerry OS 10 back in May, and they revealed the Dev Alpha B in September with lot of new features and improvements. BlackBerry 10 gets FIPS 140-2 US government security certification ahead of launch
Research In Motion (RIM) has announced that the BlackBerry 10, their upcoming mobile phone platform has received FIPS 140-2 certification. This is the first time BlackBerry products have been FIPS certified ahead of launch. This certification would enable government agencies to deploy BlackBerry 10 smartphones and RIM’s new mobile enterprise management solution BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 from the day of launch.
