ASUS’ dual OS Transformer Book Duet TD 300 with Android and Windows 8 is official

ASUS has officially unveiled its latest Dual OS convertible two-in-one, the Transformer Book Duet TD300. Simultaneously running Android 4.1 and Windows 8.1 on a single device, ASUS claims to offer two different experiences on a single machine, with laptop and tablet configurations thanks to the detachable keyboard dock. ASUS promises a 4 second time frame for switching between the two different operating systems at just a press of the button. It’s slightly disappointing that it runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean but the implementation will be interesting to see if it actually works in real life. The convertible is powered by the latest 4th generation Intel core i7 processor and comes with a 13.3 inch 1080p panel in the default configuration. The base configuration cuts the resolution down to 1366×768 and packs a Core i3 processor but comes with an affordable price tag of $599, which might be enticing for people looking to try this weird combo of a device.

Asus released the first teaser for the CES 2014 last week titled” Green or Blue? One or Two?”, which hinted at Android and Windows dual-boot tablet. The company posted teaser 2 titled “What’s your number?” recently, which has different colored balls with numbers 4, 5 and 6 that hits at smartphones or phablets with different screen sizes. Asus has just announced the new Padfone mini 4.3 at an event in Taipei as they promised last week. The Padfone mini 4.3 lets you dock the phone in a smaller Padfone station to convert it into a tablet. It packs a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) Super IPS display, powered by 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) processor with Adreno 305 GPU, just like the Moto G and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). The docking station has a 7-inch (1,280 x 800 pixels) Super IPS display and packs a 2200 mAh battery. The Padfone mini 4.3 is 8.68mm thick and weighs 105 grams. The docking station weighs 310 grams. Asus has launched Transformer Book Trio that can run dual operating systems – Windows 8 Pro and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 11.6-inch (1920×1080 pixels) 16:9 detachable display and lets you switch between a Windows 8 notebook, Android tablet and Windows 8 desktop PC. The PC Station dock is powered by a 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor, has a keyboard and packs 500GB hard drive. The PC Station also offers extended battery. In the tablet mode, it is powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 processor that runs on Android Jelly Bean and can be also connected to an external display. Yesterday, Asus announced that the Padfone mini would be unveiled on December 11th at an event Taipei, Taiwan. Thanks to evleaks, we now know how the Padfone mini would look like. We already know the phone would have a 4.3-inch screen. According to earlier rumors the Padfone mini is expected to come with a 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) display, powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor and run on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). After Asus Padfone Infinity that was launched at MWC 2013 earlier this year, Asus is back with the Padfone mini, a small version of the Padfone with a smaller docking station. Asus has sent out press invites to media outlets for the Padfone mini launch on December 11th in Taipei, Taiwan. The small docking station to dock the Padfone mini is expected to pack a 7-inch screen and is likely to come with a built-in battery, similar to the original Padfone station. Asus and Google launch the new Nexus 7 in India officially

The new Nexus 7 (2013) manufactured by Asus went on sale on the Play Store in India last month along with the Nexus 5. Now the company has officially launched the latest Nexus 7 tablet in India. It has a 7-inch 16:10 Full HD (1920 x 1200 WUXGA) display with 10-finger multi-touch, powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064-1AA, with Krait 300 cores) processor clocked at 1.5GHz and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), which already got the KitKat update. Google Nexus 7 2013 32GB LTE Version priced at Rs.25999, coming soon to India

Google seems to be taking India seriously finally regarding launching new devices. The Nexus 5 which went on sale in the US recently is listed on the Google India Play Store as coming soon with even a price tag. Now the Nexus 7 2013 edition seems to have gotten a price on the microsite for the product which was spotted by BGR India . Interestingly only the 4G LTE / Cellular version of the Nexus 7 2013 has gotten a Indian price, the WiFi versions have not got a price yet. The 32GB 4G LTE version which will work over our 3G/HSPA+ networks too is expected to be launched at Rs.25999. The tablet is sold in the US for a price of 349 USD which works out to roughly about Rs.23000 including taxes, so it seems like a fairly decent price for the tablet India if you factor the import duty and shipping costs.

Asus has launched the Fonepad 7, the company’s latest tablet in India. It was announced as the successor of the Fonepad at the IFA 2013 in Berlin last month and packs a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with new smudge-resistant coating to prevent fingerprints, runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p full HD video recording and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. Google Nexus 7 gets a price cut, 16GB WiFi only version now available for Rs. 9,999

Google Nexus 7 was launched in India quite late and went for sale at Rs. 15,999 for the 16GB WiFi version. Around a couple of months back, Google announced their second version of Nexus 7 as the Google Nexus 7 2013 with an upgraded processor and a much better display. Earlier in July, just after the announcement of new Nexus 7, Amazon had slashed the price of Nexus 7 to Rs. 11,999 for the 16GB version.Now, Amazon and Flipkart, two popular giants of India’s eCommerce market slashed the price of original Nexus 7 to just Rs. 9,999 for the 16GB version.

Asus has finally announced the new Padfone Infinity at an event in Taipei as they promised last week. The new Padfone Infinity is the fourth device in the Padfone series that lets you dock the phone in the Padfone station to convert it into a tablet. The new Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display similar to the last-gen device, but this is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. I was in Berlin, Germany for IFA 2013 last week and managed to pick an LTE version of the Nexus 7 2013 which is currently on sale only in a few countries including Germany and UK. We had already unboxed the WiFi only version previous on FoneArena and like always we are always excited about any device with a SIM card slot and here we have the unboxing of the Nexus 7 2013 LTE version.

Asus to launch the new Padfone Infinity on September 17th

Asus has uploaded a new video teaser for the new Padfone on their YouTube channel. Asus has also revealed that the new Padfone is landing on September 17th. Engadget reports that they have received an invite for the new Padfone Infinity event in Taipei next Tuesday. The new teaser doesn’t reveal anything, but the leaked specifications of the Asus Padfone Infinity A86 reveals that the device would come with a Snapdragon 800 processor. Asus announced their Galaxy Note competitor in the form of Asus Fonepad Note 6 back in Computex held during June. The Asus Fonepad Note 6 is a 6inch phablet that comes with a 6inch Full HD display and is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor. To be a true Galaxy Note competitor, it comes with a Stylus.
