Apple has announced that they will be updating their Xcode 11.4 Beta to include the option of universal purchases across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS platforms. They also updated app categories to be more unified across the App Store and Mac App Store to work along with the unified purchasing.

Apple files patent for foldable device with movable flaps that prevents creases

Apple has patented an interesting new design that aims at solving the problem of the display creasing or damaging in foldable devices. The design shows type of hinge mechanism that ensures adequate space between two housings for the display when folded, preventing a sharp fold and thereby no creases.

Apple TV and Apple TV+ now rolling out to select 2019 LG TVs

The Apple TV+ app was announced in March of 2019, claiming that it will offer support on LG and other TV’s later in the future along with Airplay 2 support. Now with an OTA update, the Apple TV, Apple TV+ and Airplay 2 in now available on select 2019 LG TVs.

Apple said to launch UWB Airtags, new MacBooks, Powerbeats 4 and more in 2020

Popular Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a report that has some interesting plans for Apple in the first half of 2020. The report claims Apple will release several new products including Ultra Wideband tags, high-end wireless headphones, a 4.7-inch iPhone SE successor, refreshed iPad Pro models, and refreshed MacBook Pro and/or MacBook Air models.

Caltech wins patent infringement lawsuit as Apple and Broadcom ordered to pay $1.1 Billion

In this year’s biggest jury verdict from this year, Apple Inc. and Broadcom Inc. have been ordered by a California Court to pay a collective $1.1 billion in damages for patent infringement. The plaintiff in this case is California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech.) who claimed that Apple broke patent laws by using Broadcom Wi-Fi chips in their devices.

Apple iPhone SE 2 (iPhone 9?) with iPhone 8-like design, Touch ID surfaces [Update: New renders]

Update: New renders of the iPhone SE 2 / iPhone 9 have surfaced and the SE 2 is said to sport an LCD screen and this time around, the 3D touch is not said to make a return. Furthermore, it is said to be available in black, white, and red color combinations. The rest of the specifications are not known yet, but hopefully, more details will surface soon.

Apple releases iPadOS and iOS v13.3.1 with new location setting for U1 chip, security bug fixes and more

Apple has rolled out new software updates to iOS and iPadOS changing the software version from 13.3 to 13.3.1. As the software version indicates, this update is a small incremental update with quite a few bug fixes. Noticeably, there is a security fix that now stops contacts being added without entering passcode and Apple has added a setting to control location data sent via the U1 Chip.

Apple has finally introduced HomePod, its Siri-powered smart speaker in India. The company has also pushed iOS and iPadOS 13.3.1 update that brings support for Indian English Siri voices for HomePod. To remind you, it was introduced at WWDC 2017 and went on sale in Australia, the UK and the US from February 9, 2018 priced at US$349 (Rs. 24,860 approx.), and got a price cut to US$299 (Rs. 21,300 approx.) in April 2019. Apple reports $22.2 billion profit on $91.8 billion revenue in FY Q1 2020, biggest quarter ever

Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $91.8 billion, up 8.89% over last year with a net profit of $22.2 billion, up 11.1% YoY, fueled by iPhone and earnings per diluted share of $4.18 for the financial year Q1 2020 that ended December 28, 2019. During earnings call Tim Cook said that it was Apple’s biggest quarter ever, which set new all-time records in both revenue and earnings. “Geographically, we set all-time records in the Americas, Europe and rest of Asia Specific and saw Greater China return to growth,” said the CEO. Apple iMac design patent hints at an all-glass redesign with embedded display

Apple is not a company to shy from radical design choices which makes this new patent design an actual possible future for the Apple iMac. Based on a new patent filed a few days ago, it seems like Apple may be looking into a design refresh for its All-in-one iMac computers, made with a single sheet of glass.

Apple iPhone SE 2 (iPhone 9) said to enter mass production in February, launch in March

Back in 2016, Apple launched the compact iPhone SE with iPhone 5s-like design, earlier reports said that the iPhone SE 2 will launch in Q1 2020, and recently renders of the smartphone surfaced. Now a new report from Bloomberg says that the lower-cost iPhone model will go into production as early as next month, and launch in March. 2020 iPhones to feature larger camera sensors, slimmer design: Report

According to a new report, the 2020 iPhones are said to have slightly different designs among the various models. The higher end 6.7-inch model will be slightly thinner with larger camera sensors while the 6.1-inch and the 5.4-inch models will come with different number of camera modules.
