Mark Gurman articulated additional M2 MacBook’s on Apple’s product roadmap in the most recent edition of his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, which included new Mac mini models with M2 and M2 Pro chips, new 14-inch as well as 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, and then a new Mac Pro tower with M2 Ultra and “M2 Extreme” chipsets. Apple has finally introduced HomePod, its Siri-powered smart speaker in India. The company has also pushed iOS and iPadOS 13.3.1 update that brings support for Indian English Siri voices for HomePod. To remind you, it was introduced at WWDC 2017 and went on sale in Australia, the UK and the US from February 9, 2018 priced at US$349 (Rs. 24,860 approx.), and got a price cut to US$299 (Rs. 21,300 approx.) in April 2019. Apple’s HomePod went on sale recently and as usual, iFixit has already done a teardown of it revealing some key details about the latest Apple product. The Apple HomePod has scored a 1/10 on the repairability scale. iFixit says that it was one of the hardest ever projects. It is not surprising why Apple is charging $279 to replace damaged HomePod without AppleCare+. Apple introduced its first Siri-powered smart speaker HomePod at WWDC 2017 back in June last year. At that time the company said that it will ship the device starting in December in Australia, the UK and the US, later it was pushed to early 2018. Today the company confirmed that the smart speaker will be available in these countries from February 9th with pre-orders starting from this Friday, January 26th. Now the company has released a statement saying that it will be available only in early 2018 saying that it need “a little more time” before the HomePod is ready, but it did not provide any reason for the delay.
