Earlier this year, WhatsApp rolled out Touch ID and Face ID for iPhone to provide an extra layer of security for WhatsApp users. Earlier this year, WhatsApp rolled out new privacy settings for Groups that allowed users to choose who can add them to Groups. The feature was rolled out mostly in India initially and now, WhatsApp has started rolling out the group privacy settings globally for more users and also adds a new Blacklist feature.
Back in 2017, WhatsApp announced that it will continue to support Android 2.3 till 2020 and earlier this year, the company confirmed that it will stop support for Windows Phone at end of 2019. Now, WhatsApp has announced that it will not support iOS 8.0 and older, Android 2.3.7 and older from February 2020.
WhatsApp has been testing and introducing new features recently like Status Ads, ability to use the same account on multiple devices and more. Today, WhatsApp has started rolling out the much-awaited fingerprint lock feature to beta users on Android, after introducing it for iOS beta users earlier this year. This feature was rumored few months back.

Facebook has been bringing changes and introducing new features to WhatsApp and Instagram post acquiring it. In similar lines, Facebook is all set to rebrand its popular IM apps and add its name and has in fact begun adding to some screens.
WhatsApp has been introducing new features recently like Business Manager Catalog, Settings UI refresh, Face ID/Touch ID biometric authentication, privacy measures, etc. In similar lines, new reports suggest that WhatsApp will soon allow users to access its popular messaging app on multiple devices, at the same time.

In similar lines, WhatsApp has announced a partnership with The Indian School of Public Policy for a privacy education programme.
Instagram already has an option to automatically share story to your Facebook story. Now WhatsApp is said to be testing “Add to Facebook Story” feature to share WhatsApp Status with images, videos, GIFs and text to Facebook Story. Unlike Instagram, this is not automatic, and has to be shared manually.
