A little over a week ago, an update to WhatsApp Beta revealed that the developers were working on animated stickers and now, in a blog post, they have confirmed the feature. Along with it, they also announced the ability to add WhatsApp contacts via QR codes, brought dark mode for their desktop apps and WhatsApp Web and more.
Animated Stickers have already existed on other messaging platforms like Telegram, and now finally they are available on WhatsApp too. The packs will be available to download via the WhatsApp Store or you can save an animated sticker once it has been sent to you.
WhatsApp dark mode has been available on their iOS and Android mobile apps for many months now, and they are bringing it their desktop apps and on WhatsApp Web.
Saving contacts on WhatsApp has now been made easier with the ability to share/scan WhatsApp numbers with QR codes. Group video calls on WhatsApp are also going to get an update where users will be able to press and hold a participants video window to zoom in on their video. And finally, KaiOS users can now share Status updates.
These features will be coming to all WhatsApp users over the next few weeks.
