WhatsApps was suddenly removed from the Windows Phone Store due to technical issues and the WhatsApp team said that they are working with Microsoft to resolve the issues and bring it back shortly. The app did not return to the store even after a week, leaving Windows Phone users frustrated, since this is the only way to download the app for the platform. Few hours back the apps has returned to the Windows Phone Store and it has also been updated with new features.
BlackBerry has updated the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) for Android to version 2.2. This brings new sign up screen and new sign in screen for new and existing users respectively. The new sign up screen now has limited number of fields. You just need to give your name, email and a password. This update also adds option to invite a user via email. Google has started rolling out a new (v2.2) update for the Google Camera app for Android users that brings a lot of new features, including new panorama modes, option to set a timer, take a snap while shooting video and more. Any.do, one of the popular to-do apps for Android and iPhone has launched its first web app on web.any.do. It has also announced that it has crossed 10 million users on mobile. The web app is still in beta but you can sign up with your e-mail to get a pass code for the access. This syncs tasks between your mobile apps and has desktop-friendly UI with new focus and planning modes. This let users view tasks in a single column or across all folders at once. Secret, a social networking app that lets users send text and images to others anonymously has now landed on Android. The four month old app that made its debut on iOS earlier this year, preserves user identity as it does not have profile name or photo. It uses address book of users to see what your “friends” and “friends of friends” are also posting. Users can sign in, post public, anonymous confessions, and let others comment on, like, and share them.

Qualcomm introduced its Vuforia Augmented reality technology few years back and demoed some applications based on it. The Qualcomm Vuforia would get a new Smart Terrain feature with Vuforia 3.0 SDK, a 3D reconstruction capability. Google has updated Chrome for Android with a bunch of features and UI improvements. For starters, Chrome now supports multi-window devices including the support for folders within the Chrome OS Launcher. This will enable users to organize their apps properly. The version 35.0.1916.122 includes the ability to undo a tab close.
