Facebook buys 9.99% stake in Reliance Jio for Rs. 43,574 crore

Facebook today announced that it will buy 9.99% equity stake in Jio Platforms Limited, part of Reliance Industries Limited on a fully diluted basis for $5.7 billion or INR 43,574 crore, making Facebook its largest minority shareholder, the largest investment for a minority stake by a technology company anywhere in the world and the largest FDI in the technology sector in India. Facebook posts $7.4 billion profit, up 6.78% YoY in Q4 2019, MAUs up 8%

Facebook has reported a good year for 2019 as it released its Q4 2019 earnings report. The total earnings posted for this quarter was $21082 million which amounts to a YoY growth of about 24.64% from Q4 2018. The net income on the other hand, was reported at $7349 million which calculates to an increase of approx. 6.78% YoY.
