Huawei’s Honor just announced Honor 8, the company’s latest high-end smartphone in China. It packs a 5.2-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 950 SoC with i5 co-processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 on top. The main highlight of the smartphone are the dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with laser auto focus and 1.76-micron pixel size promising brilliant image quality in low-light conditions, similar to the Honor V8 that was introduced back in May. Samsung has quietly unveiled the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo (SM-J111F), successor of last year’s Galaxy J1 Ace (J110H) smartphone in South Africa. It has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the Galaxy Ace, but this is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and also comes with 4G LTE connectivity. OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 3.2.1 for the OnePlus 3 smartphone, after it paused the OxygenOS 3.2.0 roll out due to some unknown reasons. This has the same changelog as the previous update that includes new sRGB mode in the developer options to tone down the colors shown by the phone, improved RAM management, improvements for GPS performance, camera quality and more. Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The latest update this month fixes several critical issues, including issues in Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability in libpng, Mediaserver, sockets and Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Mediaserver and more. In addition to security fixes for July 1st, this also includes another update dated July 5th that cover hardware vulnerabilities on Nexus devices.
