Sony has been busy at the IFA launching a wide variety of products ranging from 4K Bravia TVs to Xperia Z1 that sports a 20.7MP camera. Along with major launches, it launched various accessories too. The Sony MDR-10 series of headphones falls under the premium category that brings lifelike detail. Sony’s main aim with this premium series of headphones is to deliver music to the listeners the way the creators created it.

Sony releases the WG-C20, a more portable 2nd gen Wireless Server for your Smartphone

Remember the crazy WCG-10 wireless server from Sony? They have released a successor to it, but it now looks a lot slimmer, just like the Xperia devices, and it can now charge them too! Funnily enough, at first glance, one would think it is actually the back of a Xperia device. A quick recap of what it does is, it’s a portable solution that can connect wirelessly to your smartphone and back-up files, or even let you access the files already in the server and play it back. Sony DSC QX10 and DSC QX100 Camera Lenses officially launched for $250 and $500 respectively

Hot on the heels of the new camera-centric Sony Xperia Z1, the company just announced their new range of camera lenses at the Pre-IFA press conference. The Sony DSC QX10 and DSC QX100 are one of a kind camera lenses that act as your Smartphone’s own camera, with the former acting as the camera’s viewfinder. It is a pretty intriguing concept only slightly hindered by the pricing, coming in at $250 for the QX10 and $500 for the QX100. The QX100 is a high end camera lens with specifications of the RX100MII Point and Shoot camera, while the QX10 is a cheaper long zoom camera lens, both with a wireless viewfinder as the display. Samsung S-View Cover on the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, it works

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition was launched with much anticipation, as to how it will work and how the updates will roll out. While the immediate roll out of 4.3 inspired confidence there was always a worry that buying the S4 Google Play Edition will strip out all the important features of TouchWiz. While that still stands true, we found that one neat feature of the TouchWiz enabled S4 still works for the Google Play Edition, and that is the S4 View Cover functionality. We snapped the S4’s S-View Cover on to the S4 GPE and shot a quick demo of it for you –

Nokia Lumia 1020 Camera Grip Unboxing

The Nokia Lumia 1020 was shown off as the best camera on a smartphone at the announcement in New York. Our initial impressions of the device echoed the same thoughts but what makes it an even greater camera is the accessory that released along with the device. HTC announced the the Mini+ and Fetch Bluetooth accessories recently. Now the company has announced the BoomBass, a Bluetooth-enabled speaker / subwoofer with a dedicated amplifier. This provides clearer, more powerful bass when combined with the HTC One family’s BoomSound, says HTC. This offers enhanced audio even in lower range frequencies. Netgear Push2TV PTV3000 Unboxing and Miracast Demo

Miracast is a wireless screencast standard that aims to be an open alternative to Apple’s AirPlay. With certified devices, the technology works over a peer-to-peer WiFi Direct connection and mirrors everything on your screen on to compatible devices, like for example, your TV. There are many devices that support the Miracast standard and one of them is the Netgear Push2TV that we bought recently. It supports not one but two wireless screencasting standards – Miracast for many Smartphones and Tablets, and Intel WiDi for the new range of ultrabooks. Sony Wireless NFC Speaker SRS-BTV5 Unboxing

Sony has always been known for making audio accessories for its TVs and home entertainment systems, and to an extent, even for its yesteryear Walkman series of phones but it gradually reduced until recently when they released smartphone focused accessories. These devices were launched to complement the new Xperia smartphones that come with the built-in NFC functionality. One of those accessories launched is the Sony Wireless NFC speaker codenamed SRS-BTV5(priced at Rs. 3,990) that works with any smartphone with Bluetooth A2DP. Nokia Lumia 820 3600 mAh Mugen Power Batteries extended battery review

The Nokia Lumia 820 is at the fag end of its life cycle, waiting to be succeeded by a more capable Lumia 825 or something, but it is still present in the hands of lots of people, who unanimously face the single most annoying issue on the 820, the disappointing battery life. I know I face it, because I have been using one for the past 7 months and I can tell you outright that the in-built 1650 mAh battery is bad, period.

Seeking respite from the incessant battery drains, my eyes grew wide when the well known Android “extended battery” maker, Mugen Power Batteries, announced that huge extended batteries for the Lumia 820 are in the works. There were two variants announced, and one of them was the 3600 mAh one with a special battery door. Needless to say, I got the biggest one. What follows is my experience with the accessory over a comfortably long term of 2 months to see if it is really worth it or not.

Google Chromecast Unboxing and Demo

Google launched the Chromecast last week and we already managed to get hold of this interesting device on FoneArena. So what does a Chromecast do ? It is basically a dongle for your TV which lets you watch online video and more on your large screen TV. You can watch Youtube , Netflix , Google Play movies and your Chrome brower tab on your large screen TV using this tiny little dongle which connects to it using the standard HDMI socket.Most modern TVs would draw power from the HDMI itself but certain older ones like mine would require external power. Nice that Google has decided to include a HDMI extender and also a power solution in the box. Watch the unboxing and a short demo in the video below
