Samsung Exynos 5 Octa chip announced at CES

on January 9, 2013 – 11:12 pmNo Comment

Samsung just announced its Exynos 5 Octa chip at CES and is calling it as the one of the most powerful mobile chipset out there. The Exynos 5 is designed to be a low power chip with focus on gaming performance.

Samsung claims that the chip is twice as powerful as its closest competitor in terms of 3D gaming performance. As expected, the chip is using ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture which lets it switch off cores when not required to maximize battery life resulting in up to 70% gains over previous gen hardware. We expect the chip to power Samsung’s next generation flagship which might be announced as soon as next month at MWC.
