Nokia today has unveiled the new ReefShark chipsets which are aimed to take leverage of the in-house silicon expertise and reduce the size, cost and power consumption of operators’ networks and meet the radio requirements of 5G. The company has also outlined its implementation of Future X network architecture for 5G. The chipsets also incorporate the Nokia’s artificial intelligence (AI) and nanometer chip technology. Reliance Jio reportedly in talks with Xiaomi to sell Mi TVs and smartphones on its retail platform

Reliance Jio is said to be in talks with Xiaomi for exclusive rights to sell smartphones and TVs in India similar to what it has with Apple. If everything works out, Jio will exclusively sell Xiaomi phones and TVs through the Jio retail network and the Reliance Digital chain of stores, according to a new report from ET. Fitbit today has made it clear once and for all that it will end support for Pebble smartwatches on June 30. Fitbit acquired Pebble along with smartwatch team and assets related to their software platform back in 2016. The company will put an end to most of Pebble’s features including App Store, the forum, cloud development tool, voice recognition features, and SMS and email replies. The company has shipped over 8.2 million units in Q4, 2017 while Samsung despite the annual growth of 17% Samsung retained the second spot with 7.3 million smartphones shipments according to Canalys. Qualcomm hit with 997 million euro fine by the EU over Apple mobile chip deals

Update: Qualcomm has confirmed it has received a decision from the European Commission (EC) relating to an expired agreement between Qualcomm and Apple Inc., which was in effect from 2011 through 2016, for the pricing of modem chips. Qualcomm said that it strongly disagrees with the decision and will immediately appeal it to the General Court of the European Union. It also said that EC decision does not relate to Qualcomm’s licensing business and has no impact on ongoing operations.
