At the Pixel event, Google has finally taken wraps off the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL along with Pixel phones, Google also introduced a range of products like Google Home Mini, new Daydream VR, Pixel Book and it also includes the new tiny camera called Google Clips. This tiny camera hooks onto your daily things like shirt, table, chair and will automatically record a seven-second video, rather a moving image. It is compact and weighs just 60.5 grams.

It can record the moving image using machine learning technique without your involvement. It syncs with the Google Clips app on Android and iOS using Bluetooth LE and WiFi Direct which helps in quickly recording spontaneous moments. Using the Clips app, you can create a short movie using the recordings.

It comes with a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 1.55 µm pixel size and 130-degree wide-angle lens and also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has 16GB internal storage. Google says that it will offer up to 3 hours of smart capture on a single charge. It uses USB-C port.

The intelligent AI-based algorithms automatically detect the moments that are worth capturing, and without anyone’s intervention, it records the clips and saves them. It takes a fair amount of time in reading faces so that it takes more photos of them and fewer clips of strangers.

As of the time we write this, Google Clips is compatible with a handful of phones including the newly launched Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 2, Galaxy S7, S8, S8+, and iPhones. It is priced at $249 (Rs. 16200 approx.), and there is no word on the official availability from Google yet.
