Today, the company is adding around 50 new kids games, stories, activities and more to the Assistant on Home and smartphones designed especially for kids and family.

Google Lens update now rolling out for Pixel and Pixel XL through photos app

Google Lens which was showcased at the Google I/O back in May and was demoed at the Pixel event earlier this month was one of the many announcements that caught the attention of many. With some room for further improvement, Google Lens is an interesting feature to have on smartphones. Now, it seems like the update is being rolled out to the first-gen Pixel and Pixel XL through Google Photos app.

Apart from the muddy colors and grainy textures in low-light, people with Pixel 2 XL review units have started noticing yet problem which looks worrisome. When viewing the screen with the gray background, you can see faint outlines of the phone’s navigation buttons on the Google Pixel 2 XL.

Google app teardown reveals references to Quartz, could be Google Home-like device with screen

Google has updated the app to version number V7.14.15 which has bought customization feature to the search bar widget but turns out that’s not the only thing the update had to bring with it. A little teardown of the app by Android Police revealed more information about the Quartz which is slated to the Google-Home like device with the built-in display just like the Amazon Echo show.

Google introduced the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 on October 4th. One thing the company didn’t announce back then is the company’s first ever custom System-on-chipset (SoC) which is called Pixel Visual Core that is an image processing chipset is being revealed today. The purpose of the chipset is to accelerate the HDR+ images 5x faster.

Apple replaces Bing search for Google on Siri and Spotlight

Apple has switched default provider of its Web searches for Siri on iOS and Spotlight on the Mac to Google from Microsoft’s Bing. Now, when you ask Siri to search the web, it will return Google results instead of Bing. Users are already seeing search results from Google on iPhone and Mac users.

HTC suspends share trading in wake of Google takeover rumors

HTC has suspended trading on the stock exchange owing to rumors of a takeover by Google. Taiwan’s stock exchange announced that shares would not be trading on Thursday morning “pending the release of material information. The statement does not mention when the exchange will resume normal trading.
