Twitter to introduce e-commerce shopping tools for the platform

A few weeks ago, Twitter revealed that they were looking into different ways to generate revenue through the platform, such as subscription services for premium features. The company is now developing e-commerce features for Twitter, which would enable selling products through them.

Twitter Spaces now being tested on Android in India

Twitter started testing Spaces voice-based social networking platform, a direct competitor to Clubhouse back in December last year on iOS as a beta app. Now the company has announced that it has started testing the app in beta for Android in several countries including India. Clubhouse is still exclusive to iOS users and is invite-only.

Twitter working on Safety Mode feature to auto-detect and block abusive tweets

During their 2021 Analyst Day presentation, the developers of Twitter revealed that they are working on a new feature for the platform called Safety Mode. There aren’t a lot of details about the feature but from the presentation, it can be inferred that this mode is designed to detect and remove abusive tweets.

Twitter begins testing voice DMs on Android and iOS in India, Brazil and Japan

Twitter is testing a new feature in their direct message (DM) service called voice messages. The feature, which will allow users to send messages that are a maximum of 140 seconds, was previously being tested with a small set of users, and is now rolling out in phases in a few countries.

Starting 30th July, Twitter will start blocking links to content that involve hateful conduct and violence, that have been shared on their platform. Along with this, Twitter may also choose to take action against the accounts that dedicated towards share links that goes against Twitter’s policy.
