More than 280 million smartphones shipped in Q1 2014, up 28.6% YoY: IDC

Samsung and Apple are still the leading smartphone vendors by shipments in Q1 2014, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The worldwide smartphone market grew 28.6% year-over-year in the Q1 2014, with shipments of 281.5 million units in the quarter, down 2.8% compared to last quarter.
