Nothing Phone (4a): Pink color, new Glyph Design revealed

Nothing recently revealed the design of the Nothing Phone (4a), the company’s upcoming mid-range smartphone in white colour. It already confirmed the pink, blue, and black colors for the phone, in addition to white. Today, it has revealed the Pink colour.

The company also highlighted the new glyph lights, 6 white LEDs that are now present on the right side of the camera, arranged vertically, and the last colour is red, which will act as an indicator when you are recording.

There will be dolphin, wings, and more notification options for the glyph LEDs. It will also offer the hourglass effect that was present in the Nothing Phone (3) even with a single column of LEDs. Other features include glyph progress, camera timer countdown, and camera shutter.

The company has confirmed that the camera bump has been reduced in the Nothing Phone (4a) compared to the Phone (3a) since this uses a tetra prism telephoto lens.

To mark the launch of the pink colourway, Nothing has launched several cheeky activities across London including:

  • Disruptive graffiti across flyposters in central London featuring cultural references relating to the colour pink
  • Pink graffiti takeover of the Nothing Store Bengaluru window

The Nothing Phone (4a) launch event on March 5th starts at 10:30 AM GMT / 4 PM IST, and the company will offer a live stream from Central Saint Martins, London.

Lucy Birley, Colour Material Finish Design Lead at Nothing, discussed the inspiration behind pink, noting

There’s a lot of amazing old tech references that we go back to very often. Pink is actually just desaturated red, and when we put the tint inside the transparency, because of how the light interacts with the resin underneath, you get this incredible sense of depth, which makes our products look really lively, and we do have all of this detail under the transparency, so it’s really nice to celebrate that.
