Airtel Xstream Fiber launched in Ladakh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Bharti Airtel has launched Airtel Xstream Fiber, a Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) broadband service in Ladakh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. With the establishment of fibernet, the firm has become the first private ISP to roll out FTTH broadband in these remote areas, providing customers with world-class digital access. Made in India smartphone shipments up 7% YoY in Q1 2022
Counterpoint Research has published an interesting market study on ‘Made in India’ smartphone shipments, which increased 7% year-on-year (YoY) in Q1 2022 to reach more than 48 million. OPPO, which also manufactures the realme and OnePlus smartphones in India, led the increase in “Made in India” shipments with a 22% increase over the previous year, followed by Samsung in second place. After rumours, OPPO has officially introduced the Reno 7A, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the Reno 7 series, in Japan. It has a 6.4-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED screen with 89.4% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 695 SoC with 6GB of RAM with up to 5GB of RAM expansion. Samsung Wallet to store and access digital IDs, payment and keys introduced
Just as Apple and Google have their versions of digital wallets, Samsung has announced their own Samsung Wallet platform. It is built on Samsung’s Knox security platform and allows users to organize digital keys, boarding passes, identification cards and more. Samsung had a wallet long back to store coupons, gift cards, loyalty cards, boarding passes and membership numbers, but it was shut down in 2015.
