Samsung has introduced 64GB Ultra High Speed-1 (UHS-1) MicroSD cards for LTE (Long Term Evolution) smartphones and tablets. Microsoft has finally released the SkyDrive app for Android. This app would let you view, upload and share files, photos and documents from your phone using your SkyDrive account. LG has announced the Optimus L9, their new phone in the L series. It comes with a 4.7-inch IPS display and is powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has Metallic Streak around the body and has 2,150 mAh battery with SiO+ technology similar to the Optimus 4X HD. Today, MacRumors reports that Apple has begun offering a new perk for Apple employees. This new perk gives Apple employees a free 50GB upgrade to their iCloud storage — a $100/year value. The new perk is similar to the free MobileMe subscription employees received until last year when iCloud replaced that service.
Earlier this year, Apple introduced a new discount on Apple hardware. Employees were offered $500 off a Mac (excluding the Mac mini) or $250 off an iPad.
Mozilla has updated the Firefox app for Android to version 15.0 that brings Native UI for Tablets, including faster startup and Awesome Bar that lets you access Top Sites, Bookmarks, and History. This update also includes features such as option to request Desktop sites, swipe gesture to close tabs and more new features. Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S3 would be available in new range of colors, Amber Brown, Garnet Red, Sapphire Black and Titanium Grey, globally. The Red Galaxy S3 was exclusively launched for AT&T in July and it was spotted in Germany last week. eBfuddy has released their Ebuddy XMS, cross platform messaging app for Nokia S40, Symbian ^1 and Symbian ^3 devices in the Nokia Store. It was released in the Nokia BetaLabs earlier this month. It lets you send free messages to XMS contacts using your data connection and also lets you send pictures, have a group conversation with up to 30 contacts. LG has finally unveiled the Optimus G (LG-F180), their new flagship smartphone. They already revealed that it would have a Snapdragon S4 pro quad-core processor and True HD IPS display with G2 Touch Hybrid Display and better battery. Now, they have officially announced the device. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 768 pixels) True HD IPS + Display and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. Yesterday, TechCrunch reported that AT&T had issued a vacation blackout between September 21-30. Reports suggested that the blackout dates were likely due to the new iPhone. Nokia support has just posted on their Nokia Discussions support forums that they have just started rolling out the update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511. Nokia E6 will have FW version number 111.140.0058. It is already available for the Nokia N8 in India.
