Samsung has announced that they have started producing 128GB ultra-fast embedded flash memory and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. They announced last month that they have started production of the embedded flash memory in 16, 32 and 64-gigabyte (GB) densities. The 128GB eMMC Pro uses eMMC 4.5 standard that delivers up to 140 MB/s (megabytes per second) sequential reading speeds and up to 50 MB/s sequential writing speeds. Asus PadFone launched in India for Rs. 64999
Asus has finally launched the PadFone in India, as we said last week. Asus unveiled the PadFone last year, but they detailed the specs only at the MWC 2012, earlier this year. The PadFone comes with 4.3-inch (960×540 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The PadFone could be docked into the PadFone station that transforms it into a tablet that has 1.3MP front-facing camera and a micro HDMI port. LG Optimus G launched: powered by quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB RAM
LG today launched its next generation flagship smartphone, the Optimus G at an event in Seoul. The Android 4.0 powered smartphone runs on Qualcomm’s Fusion 3 chip which includes a 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC ie the APQ8064 and includes 2 GB of RAM alongside. A 4.7″ 1280×768 True HD IPS Plus display dominated the front with a ppi of 320.

Customers Line Up for iPhone 5 Outside Apple’s Fifth Ave Store
AppleInsider reports that customers have already started to wait in line for the iPhone 5 at Apple’s famous Fifth Avenue store in New York City. Around 10 people have lined up outside of the store to become the first to purchase the iPhone 5 on launch day. Customers will be able to purchase an iPhone 5 beginning 8 AM local time this Friday.
It is reported that most of the people waiting in line were hoping to gain attention for websites they were promoting. A reporter from CBS New York program “The Couch” was also present to interview those waiting.
Demand for the iPhone 5 has been incredible. Earlier this morning, Apple announced that over 2 million pre-orders for the iPhone 5 had been placed within the first 24 hours alone. Last year, the iPhone 4S sold 4 million over the launch weekend, making it the fastest iPhone selling it yet. The iPhone 5 is expected to easily beat that number. So much for a “disappointing” iPhone.

Apple has officially announced that the pre-orders for the iPhone 5 has crossed 2 million, 24 hours after the pre-orders began on September 14th. Apple spokesperson said yesterday that the company was blown away by the response to the iPhone 5. Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 last week that packs in a larger 4-inch display and a A6 chip. It also comes with an improved 8MP auto focus camera and an 1.2 MP front-facing camera with 720p HD video. Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S IV to ship in March 2013 with a 5″ screen
Samsung’s Galaxy S III started shipping in late May, meaning it’s been out on the market for less than four months. Is it a bit crazy to be talking about the Galaxy S IV? Maybe, but let’s do it anyway! According to The Korea Times, the next Galaxy S will be announced at Mobile World Congress 2013. It’ll ship one month later, in March. TRAI asks operators not to charge a premium for voice calls, SMS on Blackout days
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued directions to Telecom service providers regarding charges for Voice calls and SMS on blackout days. Usually service providers does not allow concessional voice calls and SMS under any plan or package. TRAI has already said that the blackout days should not exceed 5 in a calendar year. Now, they have asked the service providers no to charges extra more than the tariff plan in which the consumer is enrolled. Samsung Running an Anti-iPhone 5 Ad in Newspapers on Sunday
CNet and Businessinsider report that Samsung has prepared an anti-iPhone 5 ad which will be published in newspapers on Sunday. The ad lists Apple’s iPhone 5 directly against the Samsung Galaxy S III. Samsung’s ad is titled “It doesn’t take a genius.”, which takes a diss against Apple Retail’s genius bars.
The rest of the ad shows a comparison of features between the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III. Obviously, the list is heavily weighted towards Samsung where many of the main features are highlighted. At the end is the line “The Next Big Thing Is Already Here”.
Apple and Samsung have been fighting head on in the smartphone market and in the courtroom. Apple just recently won a massive victory in their U.S. patent trial against Samsung with a $1.05 billion verdict. Keep it classy, Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S3 price drops to Rs. 34900
Samsung Galaxy S3 has got a price cut in India, and is available for Rs. 34900 from select online retailers in India. TheGalaxy S3 was launched in India in May for a MRP of Rs. 43,180, and the Garnet Red version went on sale last week for a MOP of Rs. 37,500. The Galaxy S3 price is now on-par with the HTC One X .
