Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 410, their latest chip with integrated LTE support aimed at emerging markets. The chip is based on Cortex A53 in the Cortex A50 series, based on ARMv8 architecture and 64-bit processing technology. Not even 8 months have passed since the Samsung Galaxy S4‘s launch but we are already seeing rumours and leaks of Samsung Galaxy S5 aplenty. Sure, Samsung’s flagship usually gets this attention every year, but we feel it is too soon this time. Amongst the various “leaks” floating around in the internet is one peculiar benchmark result from Browsermark. We may be wrong, but we have solid reasons why this is not the Samsung Galaxy S5. Firstly, lets see what this is all about. Nokia has finally unveiled the BH-121 Bluetooth Stereo Headset with NFC support. The Bluetooth headset was leaked as Nokia Guru, back in October and was expected launch at the Dubai event along with the Lumia 1520 and the Lumia 2520. The Bluetooth Stereo headset comes with in-ear headphones (WH-208) that connects to the headset through a 3.5mm jack and weighs just 15.7 grams. Great Online Shopping Festival, aka GOSF, by Google was an initiative by the Mountain View company to bring a “Cyber Monday” like deals bonanza to India last year, and it is back again this year, with more partners and of course, more deals. Unlike Black Friday, Cyber Monday and GOSF are online-only, and Google aims to attract the eager buyers of the legion of Indian internet shoppers, with deals on a single platform. That single platform is the website – GOSF.in, which lists all the partners and even has a countdown for the first day of the shopping festival, which begins on December 11th and ends on the 13th. 3 days, over 200 partners including all major e-tailers, and hopefully insane deals. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy J with 3GB of RAM and similar specifications as the Galaxy S4, back in October for NTT Docomo in Japan. Today Samsung has launched the international version of the Galaxy J (SGH-N075T) in Taiwan. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Xiaomi, the company that was recently in the news for insane flash sales and earlier, for the hire of Android VP Hugo Barra, has laid out plans to expand beyond China. Singapore is one of the first markets in which Xiaomi is targeting for its full fledged operations, as a part of its expansion to South East Asia. Hugo Barra was appointed as the company’s VP of global operations and it seems like his work is now in full swing. Xiaomi’s top executives were recently in Taiwan for a fan gathering, addressing their huge fan base with quizzes, oversized T-Shirts and even a performance from Hugo Barra, who sang and danced to a popular Taiwanese song!

Motorola released the Moto G, the company’s latest budget phone last month, that would launch in India in January 2014. The company has released the Android 4.3 kernel files for the Moto G. As our phones become smarter and applications enable us to do more, the onus lies on the hardware to be able to keep up with our demands. Its a constant struggle to strike the right balance between power, battery consumption and the all important price point to create an end product that satisfies consumer requirements while also falling within the earlier mentioned criteria. While the likes of Qualcomm are focussing on making ‘faster and better’ cores, both Samsung and MediaTek are experimenting on increasing the number of cores themselves.

Xolo A600 is a budget Android smartphone from Xolo and comes with budget specifications. Xolo A600 is powered by a new dual-core mid-range processor from MediaTek and has a 4.5inch qHD display. Like most budget Android smartphones, the Xolo A600 comes with a dual-SIM support. The camera on the Xolo A600 is slightly a disappointment as we have only a 5MP sensor at the back and a 0.3MP front facing camera.
MediaTek seems to be gaining a lot of ground in the Indian smartphone market through various budget smartphone devices and the latest budget smartphone to join the list is Xolo A600. Xolo A600 is based on a new MediaTek MT6572 1.3GHz dual-core processor and it is paired with Mali-400 MP GPU.
The trend of the Indian manufacturers to launch 5.5inch+ smartphones had begun sometime back and Xolo is the latest to join the bandwagon. Xolo Q2000 is a 5.5inch HD smartphone that has all the makings of a typical mid-range Indian phablet(the market which seems to have no end). In terms of specifications, it is nothing ahead or behind the other budget phablets as it is powered by the same 1.2GHz quad-core processor MT6589, 1GB RAM and comes with a 5.5inch HD display.
