HTC Deluxe, global variant of Droid DNA leaks

Press render of the HTC Deluxe, global variant of the HTC Droid DNA has surfaced, thanks to @evleaks. HTC Droid DNA was announced for Verizon Wireless in USA and it was first launched in Japan as HTC J Butterfly last month. There are no details about the specs yet but is expected to come with similar specs including a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) 1080p Full HD super LCD 3 display at 440 PPI, 1.5 GHz processor quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor, a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED flash, BSI sensor, 1080p HD video recorder and a 2.1MP front-facing camera with HD video recording. Google Moving Closer to Submitting Maps App for iOS

Last month, we reported that a Google Maps for iOS app was in alpha testing. Today, The Wall Street Journal reports that a Google Maps app for iOS may be released via the App Store soon as the company is almost done with tweaking the software for Apple’s iOS devices.

“We believe Google Maps are the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps in the world,” a Google spokesman said. “Our goal is to make Google Maps available to everyone who wants to use it, regardless of device, browser, or operating system.”

Unlike the Google’s Maps app that was included with iOS 5 and earlier, it is also reported that the new maps app will also offer free turn-by-turn navigation as has been available on Google Maps for Android and which Apple provides in its Maps app.

CatchPlus difference spotting puzzle game launched for Android

CatchPlus is a new game for Android by Sioo Interactive Inc., a South Korean company that lets you spot the differences between two images. There are 3 modes, Classic mode, Speed Mode and Time attack mode. You can also go to CatchPlus Facebook page, and submit photos for inclusion as actual image puzzles within the game. 3DMark Cross-platform Benchmarking tool coming soon to Windows RT, Android, iPhone and iPad

Futuremark has announced that new 3DMark Cross-platform Benchmarking tool would be available for Windows RT, Android, iPhone and iPad other than Windows, later this year. The new 3DMark tool would also let you compare scores across all these platforms, since the test content, settings and rendering resolution are similar. 3DMark is popular benchmarking tool for PCs, 3DMark 11 is the latest version on Windows. This would compete with the GLBenchmark, popular benchmarking tool that is available on Android, iPhone and iPad. Airtel has introduced world’s first free intercontinental incoming roaming service that would let the Airtel customers in Africa enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This would be available for Airtel customers in 17 countries across Africa. Airtel introduced local outgoing calls for Indian customers at Re.1/min while roaming in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh earlier this year. Samsung begins production of faster, smaller 64GB embedded flash memory for mobile devices

Samsung has announced that they have started producing new 64GB embedded flash memory for Smartphones and Tablets. The new Samsung Embedded Multimedia Card (eMMC) Pro Class 2000 delivers up to 260 MB/s (megabytes per second) sequential reading speeds and up to 50 MB/s sequential writing speeds. It offers random write speed of 2,000 IOPS (input/output per second) and a random read speed of 5,000 IOPS. These are up to 2 times faster than the eMMC Pro Class 1500 and up to 10 times faster than the normal class 10 memory cards. India 2G spectrum auction ends, Winners announced


The Department of Telecom (DoT) has announced the winners in the 2G auctions in various circles that ended after 14 rounds. Earlier this year, Supreme Court of India cancelled 122 2G licenses issued by the Government on after 10th Jan 2008. At the end of the 2G auction government got bids worth Rs. 9,407.64 crore, much lower than their target revenue of Rs. 40,000 crore. Smartphone sales rise 47 percent as worldwide phone sales go down 3 percent

Third quarter of the year is usually really bad for mobile phone manufacturers as there are no huge celebrations where people buy devices and it is also the time where new devices are unveiled which will be launched during Christmas. So people tend to wait for Christmas time where all the mobile manufacturers try to bring in their best devices. Gartner’s research shows that mobile phone sales has gone down 3% compared to last year but in the same research smaprtphone sales has gone up 47%.

Sony C6603 gets benchmarked

We have been hearing about a monstrous phone being developed by Sony, which sometimes pops up by the name of Odin and sometimes the Yuga, this phone is considered to have a 5″ display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (Wow). Well some of the specs of this device has been confirmed by a Nenamark benchmark result, which also confirms the 5″ display with before mentioned resolution. Read on to know more about this device.

Nimbuzz for Windows Phone updated with push notifications

Nimbuzz for Windows Phone has been updated to version 1.1.1 that brings push notifications finally. The updated app also brings auto save option for incoming images, faster startup time that offers better user experience and more. Nimbuzz for Windows Phone was launched back in July and lets you chat with friends on Facebook, GTalk, Yahoo Messenger and MSN/Live Messenger. You can also share images and connect to Twitter using the app.
