Micromax launched the A111 Canvas Doodle back in May. It is the company’s first smartphone in the Canvas series to come with a stylus. It has a 5.3-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display,  powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor similar to the Karbonn S5 Titanium and the Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

iBall Andi 4a Radium, a new budget smartphone in the Andi series is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 4-inch (480 x 854 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other iBall smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Smartphones and Tablets to get support for 9 Indian languages

Samsung today announced support for 9 Indian languages for their Galaxy smartphones and tablets. This would let the Samsung smartphone users to access the user interface and content in these languages. The 9 Indian languages include, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. These Indian languages will be supported on Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Tab 3 starting from today. SwiftKey Cloud Beta updated with bug fixes and improvements

SwiftKey released v4.2 Cloud Beta few weeks back with backup and sync and trending phrases feature. Now the company has released an update to the app that brings lot of improvements and bug fixes. These fixes includes better responsiveness for flow predictions, crash fixes in cloud preference and Gmail personalization and lots more. Even though there are lot of fixes, it also has some known issues, which would eventually be fixed in the final release. LG Vu 3 specs surface, 5.2-inch display and Snapdragon 800 processor

LG has announced the Optimus Vu II, successor of the Optimus Vu back in September last year. Now the specifications of the third Vu phone, the Vu 3 has surfaced. The Vu 3 would have a IPS display with 4:3 Aspect Ratio similar to first two phones in the series, but the display is rumored to be a bit larger at 5.2-inches with a resolution of 1280 by 960, better than the 1024  by 768 pixels. The Vu 3 is rumored to pack a Snapdragon 800 processor and a 13-megapixel rear camera similar to the LG G2, the latest flagship that was unveiled recently. Sony’s Lens Camera leak shows off external lens attachment on a Xperia Honami

Sony has been known for its innovative attempts at consumer technology, but the leak you see above takes it to a whole new level. What you see, is a Sony Lens Camera. It’s a lens, and a camera, yet it doesn’t have a viewfinder like a normal camera. This is where the Xperia i1 Honami comes in, acting as a wireless viewfinder to the Sony Lens. This crazy contraption is actually inspired(?) from a critically acclaimed Wireless ViewFinder Interchangeble lens(WVIL) camera concept shown off by a company called Artefact, way back at CES 2011. Nokia Lumia 1020 Yellow & Black headed to O2 UK in September, 64GB variant might be coming too

O2 UK have updated their coming soon page to show they’ll be stocking the Nokia Lumia 1020 in Yellow from next month. The Lumia 1020 will also be available in Black from O2 and will run on their 4G network, which launches on August 29.Another piece of related news is that O2 UK might be carrying a 64GB version of the Lumia 1020 too in addition to the usual 32GB which is currently on sale in the US.

ZTE Open Firefox OS device to be sold on eBay for $80

ZTE Open, the first commercial Firefox OS device went on sale in Spain last month. Now ZTE has officially announced that it would go on sale in the US and UK soon through eBay. The Firefox developer devices Keon and Peak manufactured by Spanish company GeeksPhone went on sale in April. The ZTE Open was unveiled at the MWC earlier this year. It has a 3.5-inch (480×320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz MSM7225A Snapdragon S1 processor and runs on Firefox OS. AnTuTu releases semi-annual performance and regional statistics

AnTuTu Labs has released semi-annual top device performance and regional statistics based on the data collected from the AnTuTu Benchmark 3 app run by users globally. Data in the stats are collected between January 1st, 2013 and June 30th, 2013. This reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the top hardware performer globally in this period. AnTuTu has also revealed popularity ranks based om different countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the popular smartphone in Hong Kong and Taiwan, however in China the Xiaomi 2S is the popular smartphone followed by the Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 vs Galaxy Note 2

Samsung opened the doors of the phablet industry with their original Galaxy Note and now are expanding their lineup of devices with even bigger phablets – Galaxy Mega series.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 was launched at the end of May while the Galaxy Note 2 was launched earlier last year in September. Both the devices are completely different except the fact that they are phablets and have 5.5inch + displays. The Galaxy Note 2 is almost at the end of the product cycle with Note 3 announcement around the corner.

HTC unveils Robert Downey Jr. in its new “Change” ad campaign with a new teaser

HTC was rumored to be in talks with Robert Downey Jr. for a while now and today HTC have officially signed up Robert Downey Jr. for a two year deal. According to the press release, this is HTC’s most ambitious campaign till date and the “Change” brand is expected to bring a “change” in HTC’s Digital, PR, Social and other activities. The beginning of the Change platform will be marked by ads that star Robert Downey Jr and will be hitting the media on August 15th.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumored to pack a 3450 mAh battery and run on Android 4.3

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is confirmed to be unveiled on September 4th in Berlin, Germany. Rumors of the smartphone still continues to flow. Earlier rumors suggested that the phone would  feature a Full HD Super AMOLED display anywhere between 5.7 to 5.99-inches, a 13MP camera, the latest Exynos 5 Octa 5420 and Snapdragon 800 processors based on the region and 3GB of RAM.
