Xiaomi just announced the Redmi Note 2 smartphone at its MIUI 7 event, as expected. It packs a  5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, is powered by a octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a Magnesium alloy frame and is 8.25mm thick.

Paytm has surpassed 100 million mobile wallet users in India who are carrying out 75 million transactions every month. The popular mobile commerce marketplace and digital wallet company claims that its wallet is now accepted by over 80,000 merchants across the country.

LG to expand its Hi-Fi Music Service for premium smartphones globally

LG has announced that it will expand its high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) music service globally starting from this month for its customers who uses premium smartphones. This service was first introduced in Korea back in March 2014, where the cumulative downloads has topped 25 million. This will offer 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi studio-like audio experience, about 6 times the sound quality of a typical CD (16bit/44.1kHz). Philips has launched Xenium I908, a mid-range smartphone and the S309, a budget smartphone in India. The Philips I908 appeared on the official Philips India website last year and packs a 5-inch 1080p screen, 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Philips S309 has a 4-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.

We reviewed the OnePlus 2 smartphone earlier this week, and here are the battery test results of the smartphone. The OnePlus 2 packs a 3,300 mAh built-in Li-Po battery, slightly bigger than the OnePlus One’s 3,100 mAh battery. Even though it has the same 5.5-inch 1080p display seen in the OnePlus One, this has 1500:1 contrast ratio and has a powerful Snapdragon 810 SoC, which might affect the battery life. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Agartala

Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Agartala. It launched 4G services in 296 towns across India last week, after running 4G LTE trails in the country. Airtel said that it had received great response during trail period in Shillong. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. XOLO Black Review

XOLO Black is the first smartphone from XOLO that is part of the Black series of smartphones that are aimed at online retail markets. Calling the series Black and the smartphone Black as well makes it quite confusing for the customer and it will become more so when it is time to launch the next phone in the Black series. That is expected to be sometime soon as the company did state that it has plans to launch around 4 devices per year. We aren’t sure what naming scheme the company plans for the upcoming devices but what we do know is what the XOLO Black offers and it seems to offer plenty judging by its specifications sheet. This will allow users to record more video and shoot more high-density image files without running out of space. It offers read speeds of up to 90MB/s and write speed of up to 45MB/s, similar to the 256GB UHS-I SDHC/SDXC card that was introduced last year. Lenovo K3 Note vs Xiaomi Mi 4i

Lenovo launched the K3 Note in India on June 25th this year and started sales on Flipkart on July 8th via Flash sale method. The Mi 4i was launched on April 23rd this year and started sales on April 30th through Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal.
