Xiaomi has announced MIUI 7, the latest MIUI ROM at an event in Beijing on the fifth anniversary of MIUI. It is based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), has personalized UI with thousands of themes, new Mi roaming, faster response speed and better battery life compared to MIUI 6. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Sonipat

Airtel has launched its 4G LTE services in Sonipat. Airtel said that it had received great response during trail period in Ambala, Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal and Yamunanagar. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. For existing Airtel customers, the company is offering a complimentary upgrade to Airtel 4G at same price as 3G. It launched 4G services in 296 towns across India last week, after running 4G LTE trails in the country. Xiaomi has introduced Mi Wi-Fi nano, the company’s latest compact wireless router, smaller than the Mi Wi-Fi mini router. It’s in the size of your palm, can be carried in your pocket and weighs just 100 grams. The main highlight of the wireless router is that it has micro USB input that lets you power it using a power bank since it consumes just 36W power. Lenovo reports $10.7 billion revenue for Q1, FY 2015-16, cuts 3200 jobs

Lenovo has reported $10.7 billion in revenue for Q1 ended June 30, 2015 for FY 2015-16, a mere three percent increase year-over-year. The company’s net income declined 51% year-over-year to US$105 million.

Xiaomi just announced the Redmi Note 2 smartphone at its MIUI 7 event, as expected. It packs a  5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, is powered by a octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a Magnesium alloy frame and is 8.25mm thick.

Paytm has surpassed 100 million mobile wallet users in India who are carrying out 75 million transactions every month. The popular mobile commerce marketplace and digital wallet company claims that its wallet is now accepted by over 80,000 merchants across the country.

LG to expand its Hi-Fi Music Service for premium smartphones globally

LG has announced that it will expand its high-fidelity (Hi-Fi) music service globally starting from this month for its customers who uses premium smartphones. This service was first introduced in Korea back in March 2014, where the cumulative downloads has topped 25 million. This will offer 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi studio-like audio experience, about 6 times the sound quality of a typical CD (16bit/44.1kHz).
