Huawei’s Honor brand introduced the Honor 6X smartphone for global markets last week at the CES 2017. It recently sent out invites for the launch of the smartphone in India on January 24th. Now it has confirmed that the phone will be available in India exclusively from Amazon.in. There is also a page for the phone on Amazon India, but it is not live yet. Xiaomi started its Mi explorer program last month, which ended recently. Yesterday it announced the explorer rankings. Today the company has sent out an invite for the launch of the new product on January 19th, which will likely be the Redmi Note 4. It was introduced in China back in August last year and will come with a Snapdragon processor in India instead of Helio X20 SoC. Yahoo has announced that its CEO Marissa Mayer will resign from the board once it completes the deal with Verizon. In addition, Yahoo will also be renamed as Altaba Inc, the company said in a regulatory filing. Yahoo has a deal to sell its core internet business, which includes its digital advertising, email and media assets, to Verizon for $4.83 billion.

LG Display today announced the world’s first 5.7-inch QHD+ LCD panel with a 18:9 aspect ratio. However, the company has not released an image of the panel, like they usually do. LG says that it has developed this display with 18:9 aspect ratio to provide more immersive viewing experiences and due to consumer demands for bigger screens. “18:9 aspect ratio is also optimized for multi-tasking, using dual-screen functions,” says LG.
