It has an unibody metal design and has a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds. U.S. lifts laptop ban for Emirates, Etihad and Turkish flights

The US has lifted the laptop ban for Emirates, Etihad and Turkish flights. Passengers were restricted to carry laptops and other electronics from the cabins of on U.S.-bound flights from the aforementioned companies and few others earlier in March. The U.S. government had restricted passengers from carrying electronics like tablets and laptops on inbound flights from 10 airports in the Middle East and Africa. Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones back in April in Midnight Black and Maple Gold colors, and the S8+ also comes in Coral Blue color in India. It even launched 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version of the S8+ in the same Midnight Black color. Today the company has launched the Orchid Gray color variant for the phone in India.

Nokia and Xiaomi sign multi year patent agreement and cross licensing deal

Nokia and Chinese handset maker Xiaomi Technology have signed a multi-year patent licensing agreement. Xiaomi also acquired patent assets from Nokia as part of the transaction. The deal also includes a cross license to each company’s cellular standard essential patents.

LeEco chairman’s assets and shares frozen by Chinese court over unpaid debt

A Shanghai court has frozen assets and shares of LeEco chairman Jia Yueting due to unpaid debts, according to a latest report from the New York Times. The court has reportedly frozen 1.2 billion yuan ($180 million) in assets owned by co-founder Jia Yueting, his wife Gan Wei and three subsidiaries.

Xiaomi has released the list of 14 smartphones that will get Android Nougat update. The list includes 10 smartphones that will get Android 7.0 update and four smartphones that will get Android 7.1 update. Most of these smartphones were released running Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Samsung tipped to be working on Bixby-powered smart speaker

It looks like Samsung is joining the Apple, Amazon and Google clan to make its own smart speaker. According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Samsung is working on smart speaker that will be powered by voice-activated voice assistant Bixby. Bixby is Samsung’s AI assistant — its answer to Alexa, or Siri, or the Google Assistant.

Sony launches Three Hands Square – new range of Wena analog watches with NFC support

Sony has unveiled new range of its Wena watches that support NFC. The Wena wrist watches were first introduced in 2015. The latest range of Wena watches are called Three Hands Square. These are analog watches but offer smartwatch features like activity tracking, notification alerts and NFC support for making payments.

Foxconn plans to invest up to $5 billion in India

Foxconn is planning to invest in India, according to a latest report from the Times of India. The Taiwanese contract manufacturer plans to invest up to Rs 32,000 crore ($5 billion) in the country. Foxconn is looking forward for this move as it wants to create a parallel manufacturing hub apart from China. The company is eyeing  to scale up India operations in an ‘exponential manner’.
