Google introduced seamless updates back in 2016 with Android 7.0. Any Android smartphone that features Seamless System updates will have two partitions; A and B and when a firmware update arrives, it is downloaded and installed on the second inactive partition. Once the update is downloaded and installed, the phone will boot into the newly updated firmware.
Smartphone manufacturers have come a long way in innovation, especially in terms of displays. Bezel-less screens have been there for a while and it is improving further, like the waterfall display on the Vivo NEX 3S 5G, OPPO’s implementation, and more. Now, Samsung has patented a waterfall display with a borderless design that could eventually be implemented in future smartphones.

Last year OPPO joined the Wireless Power Consortium, a group of companies for developing and promoting the Qi wireless charging standard. Now a new OPPO Wireless Charger (OAWV01) has been certified by the WPC. This reveals that it will be a 40W charger and has the Qi version number v1.2.4. It shows a white with gray finish, a button in silver finish, place to keep the phone and a LED notification light in white that is hardly visible. TCL, a company known for its displays and TVs, is officially entering the smartphone market with its own TCL- brand smarphones, the TCL 10 Series. It consists of 3 smartphones; the 10 5G, 10 Pro and 10L, each having TCL’s own display with NXTVISION visual tech, Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs, quad rear-camera setups and more.
Update 7th April 2020: Shortly after the leaked renders, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 8 Series will feature wireless charging and will be called Warp Charge 30 Wireless. It has a peak output of up to 30W and will charge the OnePlus 8 Series up to 50% in half an hour.
OnePlus says that to achieve the 30W wireless speeds, they have combined the industry’s first isolated charge pump with Warp wireless direct charging architecture which ensures a 97% charge efficiency and reduces heat. The wireless charger’s current and voltage is controlled by a customized chip and the chip enables real-time communication between the charger and the phone.
Apart from this, Warp Charge 30 Wireless is also compatible with Qi wireless chargers at 5W speeds and you can also get 10W speeds with a 10W EPP standard charger. The company has shared more details about its technology in the forum.
HMD Global has started rolling out Android 10 update for the Nokia 3.2 smartphone, which makes it the ninth Nokia phone to get the update after the Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 7.2. Back in 2018, WhatsApp started adding a “forwarded” label for any message that is being forwarded from one chat to another and later limited forwarding messages to 5 chats at once globally. The COVID-19 pandemic has apparently not slowed down Samsung’s growth by a large amount, with their current estimates even beating initial expectations. Samsung posted its earnings guidance for Q1 2020, being one of the first tech companies to do so, estimating approximately 55 trillion Korean won ($45.26 billion) in sales and 6.4 trillion Korean won ($5.26 billion) in operating profit.
