Western Digital My Passport SSD with up to 1050MB/s read speeds and up to 2TB capacities launched in India


Western Digital, popular manufacturers of digital storage solutions has announced the launch of their latest My Passport SSD that makes use of NVMe technology. It boasts an impressive read speeds and write speeds of 1050MB/s and 1000MB/s respectively, and comes in three capacities.

The My Passport SSD has body with a durable metal design that is both shock and vibration resistant, capable of surviving drops at a height of 6.5ft. It is compatible with both Mac and Windows machines, and it connects via a USB 3.2 Gen-2 Type-C port with an included USB Type C-cable and Type-A adapter.

The SSD is designed for content creators who want to carry large files on the go, with read speeds of up to 1050MB/s and write speeds of up to 1000MB/s. For security, the drive is also capable of 256-bit AES hardware encryption with password enabled. Customers can choose from 3 colour options — Midnight Blue, Gold, and Space Gray.

The My Passport SSD comes in 3 storage sizes – 500GB, 1TB and 2TB, and will be available on Amazon.in till October 30th after which it will be available in retail stores also. Regarding prices the 500GB option will cost you Rs. 8999, the 1TB option will cost Rs. 15,999, and the 2TB option will cost Rs. 28,999. However, as part of the Amazon Great India Festival, the 500GB, 1TB and 2TB options will be available for Rs 6999, Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 24999 respectively.
