OnePlus, earlier this week, rolled out OxygenOS 12 update, based on Android 12, for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro in India and North America. OxygenOS 12 brings with it several new features such as Reworked Icons, Adjustable Dark Mode, Improved Shelf, Work-Life Balance 2.0, Improved Shelf, Canvas AOD improvements, and more. However, it looks like OnePlus rushed to roll out the update as soon after updating the devices, OnePlus and OnePlus 9 Pro users started complaining of bugs.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones last month. The phones are getting a new OxygenOS 11.2.2.2 update that brings several camera improvements including better sharpness, noise and white balance for the rear camera, improved white balance for the front camera and more after feedback from the users. OnePlus just launched the OnePlus 9, the company’s latest flagship smartphone and the successor to OnePlus 8 / 8T in an online event, as it had promised. It has a 6.55-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 16-megapixel in-screen camera with Sony IMX471 sensor. It has HDR 10+ support, 1100 nits brightness, and 8192 levels of brightness adjustment. The phone has a flat Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and has received A+ rating from DisplayMate. Earlier this week OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 9 series smartphones will be introduced on March 23rd. Now the press images of both the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro have surfaced. This shows the OnePlus 9 Pro’s 6.7-inch Quad HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) 120Hz curved screen. The phone will use 48MP Sony IMX789 main and a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultra-wide cameras. It also has laser autofocus and two additional cameras, which is said to be 8MP 3.3x telephoto camera with OV08a10 sensor and a 2MP GC02m1b for depth / macro. It is said to retain the 16MP IMX471 front camera from the predecessor. After teasers, OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch of OnePlus 9 Series 5G smartphones globally on March 23rd. It has also announced a three-year partnership with legendary camera manufacturer Hasselblad to co-develop the next generation of smartphone camera systems for future OnePlus flagship devices starting with the OnePlus 9 Series. OnePlus has posted a new teaser image that says ‘Something new is on the horizon’ along with March 8th date on the OnePlus India website and social channels. This shows a shot of the earth the looks similar to the HASSELBLAD IN SPACE image on the official hasselblad website that explains how the Hasselblad camera was used to capture the Earth rising above moon’s horizon from Apollo 11 Spacecraft. After the CAD renders that surfaced last month, live images of the upcoming OnePlus 9 5G smartphone has surfaced online. This reveals a flat punch-hole display for the phone, similar to the OnePlus 8T, however the back of the phone has two large camera modules, and a smaller camera module along with LED flash. There is also Ultra Shot branding next to the camera. Since it is a prototype, it has a different logo instead of OnePlus. Every year OnePlus introduces its flagship smartphone in the first half of the year, and the T version of it towards the end of the year. Earlier this year in April it introduced the OnePlus 8 and the 8 Pro smartphone earlier than the usual May launch of the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. Next year, the company is rumoured to introduce the OnePlus 9 smartphone in the March, just 5 months after the launch of the OnePlus 8T.
