50000 Xiaomi MiPad units sold in 3 Minutes 59 Seconds on launch day

Xiaomi the famous Chinese phone maker had announced its plans to enter the tablet market with the Mi Pad back in May and looks like the tablet has gone on sale recently. A post on the official company forum says that Xiaomi sold 50000 units of the MiPad tablet on launch day thereby running out of stocks. Continue reading for some more breathtaking news. The 50,000 MiPads were sold out in just 3 minutes and 59 seconds. There is no mention about the location but we place our bets on China as it is the home market for handset maker which is now headed my Ex-Googler Hugo Barra. Priced aggressively at about 240 USD / Rs.14400 for the base 16GB version , the company is clearly taking on the Apple iPad Mini with its first tablet.

The Samsung Gear Live was revealed for the first time by Google during the keynote at Google I/O 2014 and it is Samsung’s first Android Wear device. We managed to spend some time with the device at the event.Here is a short video of the Gear Live watch in action.Under the hood is a 1.2 Ghz processor paired with 512MB of RAM.

LG G Watch Hands On

We are at Google I/O 2014 and got our hands on upcoming LG G Watch which is the first Android Wear based smart watch from the Korean company.While we had heard about the G watch before , it is the first time the company is actually showing it off publicly.Google even confirmed that it would be handing it out to attendees at Google I/O and also it is currently available for purchase on the Play Store.The main functionality of the watch is that it acts like an extension of Google Now on your phone but now on your wrist. You can see your messages , calls, calendar items, Google Now cards such travel, weather and you can also see the time. Check out the hands on video below :-

LG G Watch up for pre-order in India Play Store, priced at Rs.14999

If you are looking to get your hands on the LG G Watch in India, we have some good news to report. The Android Wear device from LG has gone up for Pre-order on the Play Store in India soon after it went live on the US store. The smartwatch is listed at a price of Rs.14999 for both the White and Black variants. The shipping date is July 8th. Google just confirmed availability of the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live today in the US at the Google I/O 2014 annual developer conference hosted by the company in San Francisco.

Samsung Gear Live coming soon to India, gets priced at Rs.15900

Looks like the Samsung Gear live which went on Pre-order in the US is coming soon to India too. The Play store listing in India indicates that the Android wear device is coming soon to Indian shores and the store even has a price listed for the Gear Live at Rs.15900. It is interesting that the the Samsung Gear Live is priced more than the LG G Watch in India whereas it is actually priced lesser than the same in the US market.  It is worth mentioning Samsung already has some smartwatches in the market such as the Galaxy Gear which runs on Android and the newer Gear 2 , Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit which actually run on Tizen. The Gear Live marks the adoption of Android again by Samsung for a smartwatch product.  What is more interesting is that the new Gear Live works across Android phones and not restricted to just Samsung devices which actually gives the device a better chance in the market

Samsung Gear Live goes up or Pre-Order on Play Store in US, ships July 9th

The Samsung Android Wear device which was leaked before Google I/O was officially announced today during the keynote as the Samsung Gear Live which is the company’s first Android wear device. Unlike other Samsung smartwatches which work only with select Samsung Android phones, this watch will work on any Android phone running Android 4.3 and up which is interesting.It is also water and dust resistant.

LG G Watch goes on sale on Google Play Store in US for $229, ships July 3rd

Google announced that it was going to start selling the LG G Watch in the US starting from today during the Google I/O 2014 keynote where the company announced its big ambitions for Android Wear.The devices are currently up for order on the Google Play store in the US. The LG G Watch is not something which is totally new and was announced few weeks back when Google announced the Android Wear platform.The G Watch features a 1.65 inch 280×280 pixel display and is 9.95 mm thick.It has a 400 mAh battery is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor on the inside. It has 4GB of storage and 512 MB of RAM. It connects to your Android phone using Bluetooth 4 LE and is water and dust resistant.The main idea behind Android Wear is bringing notifications which you generally see on your Android phone over to your wrist. Since the device has a touchscreen, you can swipe through the various cards and is very similar to how Google Now works on your phone.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Unboxing and First Look

Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 3, the latest iteration of its own hybrid efforts under the “Surface Pro” moniker, at an event in New York last month. Panos Panay, the guy heading the Surface group, kept referencing the Macbook Air as the Surface Pro 3’s competitor and got the audience intrigued, including us, watching the live webcast from afar. But we have now got the chance to try one out in person, as the device has started shipping in the US and Canada, with units available even without pre-order. So, what are our first impressions like? Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab S series at an event in New York. We got some hands on time with the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 at the event. The tablet has a stunning 8.4-inch (2560×1600 pixel) WQXGA Super AMOLED display at a pixel density of 359 ppi. The display is sharp and it offers 90% of Adobe RGB color coverage for accurate color output.It comes in Octa-Core Exynos and Snapdragon 800 variants depending on the WiFi and LTE models. Xiaomi announced Hongmi, a budget smartphone back in July last year. It was introduced in international markets as Redmi. Due to its aggressive pricing the smartphone was hugely successful in China and other markets where it was introduced. The Redmi packs some solid specifications such as 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display at 312 PPI, 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 Turbo processor and Android 4.2-based MIUI V5 ROM. Along with the Fonepad 7 refresh, Aus also unveiled the Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) at the Computex 2014 in Taipei. This has almost similar specifications as the new Fonepad 7 (FE375CG) , but this has a 8-inch (1280 x 800) HD IPS display, compared to the 7-inch HD display on the Fonepad 7. New Asus Fonepad 7 Photo Gallery

Asus unveiled an upgraded version of the Fonepad 7  (FE375CG) earlier this week at Computex 2014 in Taipei. We got to check out the tablet at the event show floor earlier this week. The first Fonepad 7 had a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor and the Fonepad 7 Dual SIM that was launched in India had a dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor, but this one has a faster quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor. Asus MeMO Pad 8 vs Asus MeMO Pad 7 Photo Gallery

At the Computex 2014 event held in Taipei, Asus announced successors to the MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8. The Asus MeMO Pad 7 wasn’t much of an update, but the MeMO Pad 8 was updated with a better Full HD display and internal specifications overhaul. We managed to get our hands on both the updated Asus MeMO Pad 7 and Asus MeMO Pad 8 and we shot a photo gallery comparing the two MeMO Pads.
