Nokia has announced 2 new Dual SIM phones, Asha 205 and 206 in India. These phones come with a 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) 65k color display, but the Asha 205 has A QWERTY keyboard with Island keyboard that increases readability, tactility and typing. Both these phones have Slam feature to share multimedia content like photos, music and videos with nearby friends instantly. It works on Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones without the need to pair devices, and without the recipient needing to also have Slam (iOS and Windows Phone not supported currently). Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sales surpass 5 million units
Samsung has announced that they have sold over 5 million units of Galaxy Note 2 globally. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note II at IFA in August and launched it in South Korea and India at the end of September. It took just 2 months for the Note 2 to achieve this feat, compared to 5 months for the first Note. It crossed 3 million units at the end of last month. WishTel IRA Icon HD 8-inch 3G tablet running Android 4.0 launched for Rs.12999
WishTel has launched IRA Icon HD, their new tablet with a 8-inch TFT capacitive multi-touch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor. It has 3G support with built-in SIM card slot and has voice calling features. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company launched a 7-inch tablet IRA THING 2 and a 10.1-inch IRA Comet HD few months back. The new 8-inch tablet would compete with the BSNL Penta T-Pad WS802C that also comes with 3G support. Samsung Galaxy Camera launched in India for Rs. 29,900
Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Camera in India. It was first unveiled at IFA in Berlin in August, and Samsung announced couple of months back that it would launch in India this month. Samsung started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Camera few weeks back. The 16 Megapixel camera has 21x Optical Zoom Lens with BSI CMOS sensor. It packs in a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super Clear Touch Display with 308 ppi and is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Lava IRIS N320 Dual SIM Android Smartphone launched for Rs. 3999
Lava Mobiles has launched IRIS N320, their new Dual SIM Android phone in the IRIS series, followed by the IRIS N350. Features of the IRIS N320 are similar to the N350 including a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) Capacitive multi-touch display, 1GHz processor and Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). It has a 2 Megapixel camera with LED flash at the back, but lacks a front-facing camera that was present in the N350. This doesn’t have 3G support similar to the IRIS N350. GTA: Vice City coming to select Android and iOS devices on December 6th for $4.99
Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City would be available for select new generation iOS and Android devices on December 6th for $4.99. They are celebrating 10th anniversary of their popular game by launching it on iOS and Android. The game would include several enhancements unique to Android and iOS devices similar to the GTA III including native high-resolution graphics, custom controls and more. Jolla unveils Sailfish OS and SDK, partners with ST-Ericsson and DNA
Jolla Mobile, the Finnish mobile startup has unveiled their new Sailfish OS with effortless and innovative User Interface (UI) at the Slush startup event in Finland as they announced last month. They have also released Sailfish Software Development Kit (SDK) for the developer community and announced that the Jolla devices would be powered by ST-Ericsson’s Nova Thor processor. Skype for Android v3.0 update brings new Tablet UI, Improved audio
Microsoft launched the Preview version of the Skype for Windows Phone 8 was launched last week, now the Skype for Android app has been updated to version 3.0. This version has new User Interface (UI) that is optimized for large screen on tablets. This would make it easy to make a voice or video call and send messages with the new split screen interface on tablets. This version also has improved audio quality with a new wideband audio codec, option to merge your Skype account with your Microsoft account and more new features. Google Nexus 7 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 310 7-inch Android Tablets Compared
Google Nexus 7 went on sale in India earlier this month for Rs. 19,999, but the price was high compared to the U.S, where the 16GB Nexus 7 is available for $199.
