Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) has acquired 7.39 percent stake in the Indian telecom company, Bharti Telecom the parent of Bharti Airtel. It plans to acquire a 21 percent stake in Intouch for 1.58 billion Singapore dollars ($1.18 billion) and an additional 7.39 percent stake in Bharti Telecom for 884 million Singapore dollars ($650 million), through wholly-owned subsidiaries.

Nokia has slashed price for its OZO virtual reality camera by 25%. The camera that is capable of shooting 360 degree photos and videos was unveiled in July last year.
The Indian smartphone market recorded a a healthy 17.1 percent growth over previous quarter and a marginal 3.7 percent growth over Q2 2015, according to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker.
