Huawei announces TalkBand B1, ‘Talk and Track’ Companion

Huawei is announcing a lot of products at the MWC 2014 event and one among them is the new and innovative Huawei TalkBand B1. Huawei’s TalkBand B1 is a smart watch that comes with a flexible display and comes with wireless calling facilities. LG L90 Hands On and Photo Gallery

 LG unveiled the L90, the top-end smartphone at the L Series III line-up few weeks back along with the L40 and the L70. As we promised, we are bringing you our hands-on impressions of the smartphone. Samsung Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo smartwatches with Tizen OS to go on sale in April

It wasn’t too long ago that Samsung announced its first generation Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Aimed at competing with the likes of Pebble and anticipated competition from Apple, the original Galaxy Gear was a relative failure because of its high price point, poor battery life and limited compatibility. Fast forward five months and Samsung is all set to show off its next gen Gear 2 smartwatch that eschews Android for the Korean company’s homegrown Tizen OS.

The new smartwatch will retail in two variants ie the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. The Galaxy branding has been dropped because of the transition from Android to Tizen. Specifications of the watch remain largely the same and include a 1GHz dual core processor, 4GB storage, 512MB RAM and a 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED touch screen. The watch also incorporates S Voice, a heart rate monitor, pedometer for health related applications. It also has IP67 certification for water, dust resistance. MediaTek MT6732 LTE enabled Quad Core chipset to launch at MWC

MediaTek, the maker of chipsets that usually find their home in low – mid range devices, is making a push for LTE connectivity. We reported on the MediaTek MT6595 chip earlier this month that aims to combine a Cortex A17 based quad core chip with a 4G LTE modem. Now the company is all set to launch offerings in the entry level to midrange segments. The MT6732 chip will do just that. The Karbonn Titanium S5 Plus is one of the latest budget devices to enter the Indian market. The phone is powered by a 1.3Ghz quad core processor and is paired with 1GB of RAM. The display is a 5 inch panel with a resolution of 960×540. Being paired with a relatively low resolution display removes one of the bottlenecks for the lowly processor and helps it achieve decent performance. We put the phone through our benchmark suite. The HP Slate 7 VoiceTab is the other device that HP launched today alongside the Slate 6 VoiceTab. Practically the same under the hood, the Slate 7 goes for a lower price point and a larger screen size. The tablet also enables voice calls and 3G functionality which isn’t something unheard of but is nice to have nonetheless. As global PC shipments drop, HP is making a push to re-enter the highly lucrative smartphone market. With the launch of the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and the Slate 7 VoiceTab, the company have their sights set on the midrange phablets which is a segment that is currently dominated by local upstarts. Competition from global brands is heating up in the midrange 6inch phablet segment as Nokia too introduced its Lumia 1320 recently. We got to spend some time with HP’s new Slate 6 VoiceTab and here are our impressions.
