vivo X300 Ultra with 6.82″ 2K 144Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 200MP main + 200MP telephoto cameras announced

At the vivo X series spring product launch event, the company officially introduced the vivo X300 Ultra, as it had announced. Marketed as a “professional V-series single-lens camera” and a “pocket camera”, the new flagship smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.. The device’s primary focus is its advanced imaging system, highlighted by a comprehensive 3+2 Zeiss master lens array designed to deliver high-quality performance across key focal lengths.

Design and Aesthetics

The vivo X300 Ultra adopts a DECO design inspired by a camera’s “pancake lens,” avoiding unnecessary embellishments in favor of a functional aesthetic. It features a 2.5D flat front screen and incorporates classic camera details, including a knurled texture and a signature silver trim along the mid-frame edges.

The device is available in three color options:

  • Film Green: A new colorway designed with an oily sheen reminiscent of vintage lenses.
  • Silver Tone: Features a snow mountain texture on the back glass, designed to capture the interplay of light and shadow.
  • Black: A classic, retained color option.

It has IP68 + IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Performance

It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB dual UFS 4.1 storage. Equipped with the new Ice Pulse Fluid VC cooling technology, the overall heat dissipation capacity has been upgraded, which is 14% bigger than the predecessor with 22% bigger steam chamber space. It features a super water absorption channel to enhance the VC water return speed and bring a more comfortable holding temperature.

The Zeiss Master Lens Array

The core of the vivo X300 Ultra is its hardware-level camera system, equipped with Zeiss T* coating across the board and supporting direct output of 25-megapixel photos across all focal lengths.

Lens Type Sensor Resolution Key Specifications

35mm Main Blueprint × Sony LYTIA 901 (1/1.12-inch) 200MP f/1.85 aperture, 1G+6P lens structure (reducing reflectivity by up to 30%), 32% increased full-well capacity, DCG HDR.
85mm Telephoto Blueprint × Samsung HP0 200MP Industry’s first large-sensor gimbal-level periscope, 3° OIS (CIPA 7.0), 60fps high frame rate path, up to 60 AFs per second.
Extended Zoom: Teleconverter Modules

To extend the physical focal range, vivo introduced two specialized teleconverter modules:

  • Zeiss G2 Teleconverter (“Lipstick 200”): Delivers a 200mm equivalent focal length with approximately 8.7x optical zoom at 200MP resolution. It utilizes 3° OIS (CIPA 6.5) and supports ultra-high-resolution 60fps autofocus.
  • Zeiss G2 Ultra Teleconverter (“Big Gun 400”): Delivers a 400mm equivalent focal length. It features a 15-element, 2-group precision optical structure (including 5 ultra-low dispersion and 1 glass aspherical element) for ultra-fast autofocus and stabilization.
Color Science and Imaging Algorithms

The X300 Ultra introduces several proprietary software and hardware advancements for color accuracy:

  • Blueprint Original Color Camera: Utilizes 12 spectral channels and a dedicated 5-megapixel sensor to capture spectral information closer to human eye perception.
  • vivo Color Science: Features the Smooth EV dynamic compression algorithm for highlight transitions and a Blueprint color appearance model to resolve brightness-color coupling.
  • Blueprint Color Palette: Allows users to adjust color via horizontal swipes and tone via vertical swipes, alongside five advanced special effects tools.
Professional Video Capabilities

The smartphone integrates a full-link professional video workflow, supporting 4K 120fps Dolby Vision output and 4K 120fps 10-bit Log with 422 sampling across all focal lengths.

Key video features include:

  • Hardware Support: OIS optical video stabilization on all lenses, a four-microphone array for spatial audio capture, and a 2K Zeiss master color screen for monitoring.
  • Post-Production Workflow: Professional recording mode (Pro), open custom 3D LUT import and monitoring, built-in 3D LUT library, and compatibility with the ACES professional post-production workflow.
  • Color Master: A self-developed video color tone pipeline that maps RAW information for smoother tone transitions. It supports 4K 60fps recording across all lenses and can be overlaid with Dolby Vision HDR.
  • Cinematic Modes: Includes a “Classic Film Style” (2.4:1 ratio, 24fps, motion blur, film grain) and a “Modern Film Look” (16:9 ratio, 60fps).
Professional Imaging Kit

For users looking to maximize the “pocket camera” experience, vivo has upgraded its professional imaging handle kit. The kit includes the imaging handle, both the “Lipstick 200” and “Big Gun 400” teleconverters, a custom phone case with a decorative/filter ring, an exclusive camera bag, and a shoulder strap.
