Lenovo has officially introduced the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Succeeding the original Idea Tab Pro, this new Android tablet introduces a larger, higher-resolution display, a slimmer form factor, and new artificial intelligence integrations under the Lenovo Qira umbrella. Marketed primarily as an advanced tool for students, the device aims to combine performance upgrades with AI-driven software enhancements.
Integration of Lenovo Qira AI
The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is the first tablet to feature Lenovo Qira, a suite of AI integrations scheduled to arrive later in 2026. Powered by the Snapdragon® 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, the tablet offers a study-focused workflow through several software tools:
- Smarter Reader & Lenovo AI Notes: Utilizing the compatible Lenovo Tab Pen Plus, users can select text to automatically generate summaries and explanations. These excerpts are saved to Lenovo Notepad, where AI helps organize the key points.
- Live Transcription: The device supports real-time transcription of spoken lectures and conversations for later review.
- Lenovo Smart AI Input: A dedicated Smart Key on the optional 2-in-1 keyboard pack triggers this feature, allowing users to generate and translate text using natural language prompts.
Display and Audio Upgrades
Lenovo has upgraded the screen from the predecessor’s 12.7-inch 3K setup to a 13-inch 3.5K PureSight Pro display. The panel supports Dolby Vision, a 144 Hz refresh rate, 800 nits of peak brightness, and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Additionally, Lenovo offers a matte display variant with anti-glare technology designed to reduce eye strain during extended reading sessions.
Audio is handled by a quad-speaker system tuned by JBL, featuring Dolby Atmos® support.

Hardware and Specifications Overview
The tablet maintains a slim profile at 6.20mm and weighs under 600g. It ships with Android 16 and is slated to receive operating system upgrades through Android 18, alongside four years of security patches. The camera hardware and battery capacity remain unchanged from the first-generation model.
