Worldwide Tablet shipments grow 0.15% YoY, Chromebook shipments fall 51.4% YoY in Q2 2022: IDC

The International Data Corporation (IDC), a data research organization, has issued the worldwide tablet and Chromebook shipments report for the second quarter (Q2) of 2022. According to IDC, global tablet shipments reached 40.5 million units, a 0.15 percent year-on-year increase, while Chromebooks continued to slide, with shipments decreasing 51.4 percent year-on-year to 6 million units in Q2 2022. OPPO held an ‘OPPOverse’ launch event to introduce the Reno8 Series and other products. OPPO’s first tablet in India, the Pad Air, was introduced at the event. It has a large 10.36-inch 2K (2000 x 1200 pixel) display, an 83.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, and an Eye protection mode. After rumours, realme has officially announced that it will introduce the realme Pad X, the company’s first tablet in China on May 26th. The company has also posted the first teaser image of the tablet that shows the tablet in Neon Green with racing stripes on the back. India’s tablet market grows 68% YoY in Q1 2022: CMR

According to newly revealed insights from CMR’s Tablet PC Market Report Review for Q1 2022, which was released earlier today, the tablet market in India increased by 68% year-on-year (YoY), while the market for 4G tablets recorded growth of 74% YoY. Samsung just announced Galaxy Tab A8, the company’s latest mid-range tablet in the A series. It features a 10.5-inch WUXGA TFT screen, slim bezel and a 16:10 common aspect ratio, is powered by an Octa-Core SoC, which should be UNISOC T618 SoC, based on benchmark leaks, compared to Snapdragon 662 in last year’s Galaxy Tab A7. Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 with 2.5K 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 870, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos announced

After several teasers, Lenovo has introduced Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 in China. It was introduced as Lenovo Tab P12 Pro back in September globally. The tablet features a 2.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It has low-blue light emission certification from TÜV Rheinland plus a smarter Direct Current (DC) Dimming setting that lowers the amount of power going to the display for better performance in low light scenarios.
