Cleartrip released their first Android app back in December, but it was not as impressive as their iPhone app. The new Cleartrip 2.0 has been built from ground up based on the Android design and development guidelines and brings lots of new features including a redesigned user interface (UI),Smart Home page, Split Screen Search, offline support and lots more new features. HDFC Bank launches mobile banking app for Windows Phone

The official app from HDFC Bank for Windows Phone just went live on the Windows Phone store. The app looks pretty similar to applications on other platforms from the bank.You can transfer money even to other bank accounts through NEFT.  You can pay your bills and manage your account like with any regular mobile banking app. You can even manage  your demat account, mutual funds and credit card. Asus PadFone 2 gets minor software update – improves stability , camera and WiFi performance

Asus is one of the best handset makers to provide timely updates for its Android phones. They launched the PadFone 2 last year with Android 4.0  ICS on board and rolled out an update to Android 4.1 JellyBean last year.Now the PadFone 2 has got a rather minor software update which is expected to make the already awesome PadFone 2 even more stable. There seem to be improvements in overall stability , camera , WiFi and battery life according to the official change log which you can find below.

Speedtest.net app for iOS gets huge update including new UI and iPhone 5 support

If you  are a Speedtest.net addict like me, and if you happen to have an iOS device, the internet speed testing app for iOS got a huge update including a all new UI and support for iPhone 5. In the above screenshot you can see the new app UI which shows how the iPhone 5 is clocking crazy fast speeds over Vodafone’s 3G network here in Chennai. You can even share the speedtest result from within the app to Twitter, Facebook, email and SMS.

There is even an option to remove ads if you pay $1 or Rs.55. Much needed update for this app which is very useful when testing network speeds. If you already have the app installed on your iPhone, you must have the update notification within the app store.

Amazon has launched the Kindle app for the BlackBerry 10 devices. This would read, buy and also sample the books right from your BlackBerry 10 devices. The Wall Street Journal has also released their official app for BlackBerry 10 that offers News, Opinion, Marketplace, Greater New York and more. These apps have all the features available on other BlackBerry devices. The Dark Knight Rises and Shark Dash now available for Windows Phone 8 devices

Gameloft has released their popular games, The Dark Knight Rises and Shark Dash for the Windows Phone 8 devices. The Dark Knight Rises game was released for Android, iPhone and iPad back in July last year. As you all know The Dark Knight Rises is based on the Batman movie franchise. It has all the characters from the batman like Catwoman, Lucius Fox and Commissioner Gordon. You have to finish missions and random events and protect Gotham City from Bane. Google Keep is official, brings synced notes to web and Android

Google’s note taking and list making app, Keep, had shown up previously on Drive but has now been officially announced. The app which works on web and on Android phones running 4.0 and above can best be described as a simplified version of Evernote. The application allows the creation of notes and lists which are saved on Google Drive. You can download the app here.

These are synchronized across all your Android devices. Users also get a home screen and lock screen widget to make taking notes a single tap affair. It is possible to attach images and voice memos to notes. Additionally, the service supports transcription which will let you convert voice memos into text. Google Keep allows you to customize the color of the note and completed items can be archived or deleted. The notes can be accessed on the web via the drive.google.com/keep url.

There is no iOS or Windows Phone application yet. One area where the app falls short is shared note editing or any sort of social features other than sharing via the standard Android share menu. Fujitsu’s technology lets the smartphone camera calculate your pulse rate

Fujitsu, the Japanese company known for its various offerings in the field of consumer electronics and IT services has developed a novel technology to calculate a person’s pulse rate using just the built in camera of a PC, a tablet or just your Smartphone. This is accomplished by Fujitsu’s own software which uses facial imaging algorithms to define the pulse rate of an individual.
