Dropbox acquires the creators of the iOS email app Mailbox

Mailbox, the app obsessed with zero inbox messages just helped cloud storage provider Dropbox acquire its creators. Boasting an atrocious waiting queue for new joinees, the Mailbox app drummed up a lot of interest from consumers and the press alike with it claiming to make email much better in terms of productivity. Today, Dropbox announced in their blog that they have acquired the mailbox team, and they also mentioned that they will be making the app better, by keeping the app intact for the imminent future.

Sony Xperia J Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out

Sony Mobile has started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update  (v 11.2.A.0.21) for the Xperia J, as they promised. Sony Xperia T and Xperia V got the Jelly Bean update last month. Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Sony Xperia P and Xperia go would be the next devices that would get the Android 4.1 update according to their schedule. This also brings a new and easy way to mark messages as ‘read’. Even though several issues regarding Calling, Conversations, File Transfer has been resolved, still there are several issues in VoiceOver. Skype promises they are working on a fix to resolve these issues.

This update includes new race track called Singapore by Night, as well as 2 new gameplay features. Sports Car Challenge features an exclusive selection of high-end sports cars by Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Volkswagen. The new Singapore by Night race tracks has neon-lit streets, re-modeled sights and landmarks set in Southeast Asian city-state and the new gameplay features include Racing Line and Brake Assistant. Chrome Beta for Android updated with data compression, password and autofill Sync

Google has updated the Chrome Beta browser app to version 26.0.1410.26 that brings new features including Password and Autofill Sync that lets you sync data from the Chrome browser on your desktop to your Android smartphones and tablets. The Password sync would let you sync passwords easily, and the autofill option lets you fill out forms on a small screen. This version also brings experimental data compression feature based on SPDY proxy running on Google servers. The Google Chrome compression feature was rumored earlier this week.
