Flipboard for iPhone and iPad has been updated to version 2.0.2 that brings new features including new profile pages, option to share a new via SMS, saving an image to the camera roll, Friends category in the content guide and lots more features. Flipboard for iPhone and iPad version 2.0 update back in March brought custom magazines. The Android app got the 2.0 update last week. CookWizMe has launched the CookWizMe app for iPhone that offers cooking recipes, and at the same time makes cooking fun, easy, and social. It tells a visual story of their favorite dishes with step-by-step photo recipes that are easily followed and shared. Evernote launched Evernote Food lets you keep track of what you eat, but this one lets you find recipes. The CookWizMe app is already available for Android. Opera has announced that that have signed up with seven Indian mobile OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to preinstall Opera Mini browser on all their upcoming upcoming Android smartphone and Tablets. Opera partnered with Samsung last year to pre-install the Opera mini browser on their feature phones, the Samsung Star 3, Star 3 Duos and the Champ Deluxe Duos. Microsoft and Google have not always been best of friends by any means and that had meant no official blessing for any Google services on Windows Phone. It was a huge pain for people using Google services and they were huge in number. YouTube is also one of the most used Google services, probably next to Gmail, and its official app on Windows Phone, published by Microsoft was a link to the mobile web version of YouTube until today. Now, the official app, still made by Microsoft has gotten a huge update and is finally a real app. With support for every YouTube client feature you’d want, the app has been finally released onto the Windows Phone store.
Foursquare, the leading location based social network has received a major refresh for the Windows Phone 8 platform, with a new UI, new features and more. The official app has been around in the Windows Phone marketplace for quite a while now and it was revealed that Nokia and Microsoft are working with Foursquare to bring a new experience to the Windows Phone platform and here it is. The app, boasting millions of users is primarily used for exploring nearby places and checking in to places so as to create a history of geotags with the added bonus of points and badges.

Facebook has updated the Messenger app for the iPhone to version 2.4, that brings support for stickers finally. Facebook for iPhone and iPad was the first app to get support for stickers in messaging. Facebook Messenger for Android got stickers in an update couple of weeks back. Viber, the cross platform VOIP client, which broke into the scene mobile-first has now transcended to the PC ecosystem by introducing its client on Windows and Mac computers. Viber is very similar to Skype in letting you make voice calls, video calls and send messages in groups or otherwise. Only thing differentiating it from Skype was desktop support and now that part of the puzzle has been found. Viber desktop lets you do everything you do on your mobile phone and even lets you transfer calls from one device to another, which is pretty cool. Bharti Softbank (BSB), a joint-venture between Bharti Enterprises and SoftBank Corp have announced that they have partnered with Nokia to pre-load its Hike cross-platform messaging app app on its phones, according to a report. The Hike app is available for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and for Nokia S40 devices from the respective app stores. It launched talk-time rewards for customers earlier this year, and released a Beta version of the application for BlackBerry last month. Instagram has updated the Android and iPhone apps to version 3.5 that brings the new Photos of You feature that would let you tag people to your photos. You can view all the photos you have been tagged in the Photos of You section on your profile. Once a person adds you, you’ll receive a notification and the photo will appear in your Photos of You. It’s been barely a week since Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 in India and the device has already got a software update via OTA.The update brings stability improvements to the S4 and looks like an initial bug fix update.The phone is already running on Android 4.2.2 and this looks like a low level firmware update and not an OS update.
