In an almost diminished scenario as there are not many real players in the industry. The risk is aplenty though the future is really highly promising. Yes gaming has been taken to an all time high. Thanks to handsets like N81, I phone, and more so because of the introduction of N-gage gaming platform. But I am not talking about the symbian scenario though. Its about Neil Young.
Neil Young, a former executive in EA games has quit from his job and started a new Gaming company, Ngmoco.
Young adds that the mobile gaming industry “has been stagnant for a few years. I feel the iPhone is a real opportunity to change that industry.'” Continue reading “Former EA Games executive launches gaming company Ngmoco”

I have been hearing a lot about Skyfire , finally I got to see a demo of the app on Mike Rowehl’s Samsung Black Jack.
I was impressed with the page loading speeds and ability to see video streaming within the browser
Also they have a feature called Smart Fit which lets you the webpage fit inside your screen.
You can zoom in on parts of the page .
The home page and search page have tabs on them and it looks uber cool Continue reading “Skyfire Hands-on The PC Web on the mobile”
During the past few years Symbian smartphones have become more popular among youth, when compared with the old days of Symbian devices.Actually the smartphones are made in order to cater a more productive output for power users who tend to rely on their phones to make things easy, keep work well organized and to make sure they are running according to the schedule .But by the time especially after Nokia adapted the multimedia computer concept, Symbian devices changed their path rapidly.
The old but still gold 6630 or the penguin phone as is known among most phone lovers, was the very first Nokia smartphone that hit the markets all around the world, especially among the youth it was a hot cake. That trend which boosted the smartphone fashion has now dominated the youth market as Nokia started including more and more multimedia support, large screens, massive storage capacities, dedicated music controllings, and most of all so many different form factors in design.Though the market is solely driven by looks and multimedia options there is one thing which is not very popular though it is the best in it.The Symbian OS which is core, and the door to all the above features. The news is out Nokia buys Symbian ( the remaining shares ) in a move to establish the SymbianFoundation
Symbian just turned 10 years old this week .. so the Finnish phone maker decided to buyout the SmartPhone OS maker
Well this is a smart move to compete with Apple iPhone and Google Android which are having strong developer programs ..
This deal will mark the formation of the SymbianFoundation and the source code would be made open source .. i guess just in time before the first android phone or iphone sdk hits global markets ..
The foundation is expected to start operations in 2009
It seems Apple is making all efforts to make sure it stays on top of the new generation of Phones. With a record number of downloads for Apple iPhone SDK and the subsequent launch of App Store, its all set to take the Mobile Games market by storm.
Major developers like Sega,Glu Mobile, EA and Pangea are already on the job to roll out the first batch of games. Sega recently showcased Super Monkey Ball, a tilt-sensitive iPhone game with over 110 levels.
But these games won’t be cheap. According to recent report on Pocket Gamer, while the initial launch price plans are close to $10, it may even come close to $25 for some titles. Continue reading “Apple iPhone Games”
Hi all,
Nokia Series 60 comes up with applications that simply amaze your imagination. It goes alike for applications that are released and those that are coming into existence quite soon.
The best place to find those which are coming is probably Nokia Beta Labs with an equally imaginative tag line – Shaping the future together.
Two great applications available for use are Mobile Web Server and Nokia Map Loader. While Mobile Web Server has been available for a while now, Map Loader has just been released.
I have been using Mobile Web Server for sometime, and can tell its a truly innovative application. A simple download, and an account does the trick. Oh yeah, you do need a GPRS/EDGE/3G/Wifi connection to make this work. Being totally dependent on the network, it might not be possible to make use of all the features but surely few of them can come very handy.

All the relevant information is available at Mobile Web Server site. An account is at the site and you are assigned your own address like http://yourname.mymobilesite.net
The download is available for Series 60 Nokia phones and is a Symbian download. I would recommend doing the download on the PC first and then transferring the application to the mobile through bluetooth or cable. Its around 3.8 MB on my Nokia E51. Continue reading “Mobile Web Server”
FringLand, the company behind Fring, the popular VOIP software have announced an update to their popular product.
They have released two versions, one for their Symbian version and the other for their Windows Mobile Version. There is yet no news as to why they have not released an update for their Symbian UIQ version.
For symbian S60, this in version 3.35 is more stable than ever and also brings all round better sound quality. Speakerphone support is added for devices running on top of Symbian 9.2 (S60 3.1), and file transfer is now enabled for Yahoo! IM and Skype. Continue reading “Fring – Its Update Time”
