Nokia buys Plazes Location Based Social Network

Nokia acquired German Location Based Social networking start-up Plazes.com, as part of its push into offering internet services on its cell phones. Nokia is set to release GPS cell phones from its staples during this year and acquisition of the 13 people strong startup company makes sense.

Nokia foraying big-time into Location Based Services

Nokia started giving Maps applications with its N95 and the many phone which Nokia launched after Nokia N95 had GPS functionality enabled.
