Apple reportedly planning to buy chipmaker Renesas SP Drivers

Apple is considering buying a unit of Renesas SP Drivers, Japan-based chip maker for smartphone displays, according to a report from Nikkei. Renesas SP Drivers is a joint venture between Japanese chipmaker Renesas, Sharp and Taiwanese manufacturer Powerchip. The chipmaker already provides drivers and controllers for iPhone’s liquid crystal displays that is responsible for quality, performance and phone’s overall energy efficiency. Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8 had “Powered By Android” logo at the bottom of the boot screen. Google has made it mandatory for all the Android devices as a part of Google Mobile Services agreement, according to a report from Geek.com. All the devices that are part of GMS has Google Play Store, Mail etc. Logo placement also has its own separate set of guidelines from Google. We had already seen Cortana and Action Center in earlier leaks, today a video from Chinese website Coolxap.com has revealed new start screen backgrounds and parallax wallpaper effects in Windows Phone 8.1 when you scroll through the Start Screen. Apple reportedly launching iPhone 6 in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions in September

Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 6 in two variants, one with a 4.7-inch screen and other one with a 5.5-inch screen, according to a report from Japanese business newspaper Nikkei. These are expected to have high-resolution screens significantly higher than that of current models. Apple launched the iPhone 5s last September along with the iPhone 5c with a 4 inch retina display. Today, HTC Desire 616 with octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor has surfaced online in live images posted by a weibo user. It has also been certified in Tenna in China that reveals the complete specifications of the device. It has a 5-inch HD display and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with HTC Sense 5 on top.
