HTC has announced the Desire Q, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processo and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Sense UI on top. It has a 5 MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash and comes with Beats audio support. HTC unveiled the Desire P, a mid-range Android smartphone in Taiwan earlier this week. The design of the phone looks more like the Desire X, but the features are similar to the Desire U that was launched in Taiwan earlier this year. BlackBerry 10 R-Series QWERTY phone image surface

New image of the R-Series QWERTY budget BlackBerry 10 phone has surfaced online. The keyboard looks similar to the one on the Facebook Phone HTC ChaCha. We have already seen the BlackBerry L-Series phone, the BlackBerry Z10 and the N-Series phone, the BlackBerry Q10.  It is code-named Rainier and is expected to be released in the R-Series later this year. LG has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Optimus 4X HD (P880) in Europe. The Optimus 4X HD was announced last February at MWC 2012 and launched in India last July. The LG Optimus L9 (P760) got the update in Europe last week. It was announced last August and launched in India last December. HTC and Facebook has partnered for the HTC First, the first phone to feature Facebook Home, an Android Launcher with Cover feed that offers photos and updates from your newsfeed, Notifications, Chat Heads, App Launcher to launch Facebook apps and also comes pre-loaded with Instagram. The HTC First has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Facebook Home brings the social network to your Android homescreen

Facebook today announced its brand new Android Launcher called Facebook Home which will serve as a gateway to the social network’s services. The launcher is meant to replace the default skin on your Android device and hooks in with Facebook centric services. Predictably, the focus here is on sharing and keeping a track of whatever your friends are up to.

Facebook Home Android launcher coming to select HTC and Samsung phones on April 12

Facebook just announced their Facebook Home Android product and only select HTC and Samsung devices will be getting it initially. The Samsung Galaxy S3 , Galaxy Note 2 and HTC OneX+ are existing devices which are supported.The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 are new devices which will be compatible with the app. Facebook  put rumors about a Facebook phone or an forked Android OS with the launch of this app.

LG Optimus L3 II Dual (E435) and the Optimus L7 II Dual (P715) are now available in India from online retailer Flipkart. These phones were priced on the official LG India website yesterday. The LG Optimus L3 II Dual has a 3.2-inch (320 x 240 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. The Optimus L7 II Dual has a 4.3-inch (800 × 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. Both these run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and have dual SIM support with a dedicated SIM switch button. LG unveiled theOptimus L Series II devices at the MWC 2013 in February.

Nokia 105 affordable phone launching in India in April for Rs. 1200

Nokia 105, the company’s most affordable entry-level phone with a color screen would launch in India later this month, according to a recent report from Hindu Business Line. The Nokia 105 was announced at the MWC 2013 back in February. It has a 1.45-inch (128 x 128 pixels) 65k Colour TFT Display, has FM Radio support and comes with Nokia Life in select markets.  This phone is based on Nokia’s Series 30 platform similar to the Nokia 100 and 101 affordable entry-level phones that were launched in India last year. It would offer up to 12.5 hours of talk time and up to 35 days of standby. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Trend 2 (SCH-I739) and the dual SIM variant, the Galaxy Trend 2 Duos (GT-S7572) in China along with the Galaxy Win. Samsung has also announced the Galaxy Grand Duos (GT-I9082)in China, that we reviewed recently. These look like souped up versions of the Galaxy S Duos. These have a 4.0-inch (480 x  800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). These have a 3-megapixel rear camera.

BlackBerry to shut down BBM Music in June

BlackBerry has started sending emails for BBM Music subscribers that BBM Music would be discontinued as of June 2, 2013. BBM Music is BlackBerry’s own cloud-based music service in partnership with several music giants Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI. BlackBerry Music was anounced back in August 2011, and it was launched it widely in the US, Canada, and Australia later in November 2011 after several closed beta trials.
