BlackBerry has inked a deal with Optiemus Infracom to licence software and services for the production of Android handsets in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. Under the terms of the agreement, BlackBerry will licence its security software and services suite, as well as related brand assets to Optiemus Infracom Ltd, a Delhi-based telecom enterprise.

Xiaomi today announced that it will unveil the Redmi Note 4X, an enhanced version of the Redmi Note 4 in China for Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The teaser says that it will be introduced by a new ambassador, who could be 16 years old, but it did not reveal any other details about the smartphone. Earlier rumors indicate that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 653 SoC instead of Helio X20 in the Chinese or Snapdragon 625 in the Indian version of the Redmi Note 4. Tablet market continued to decline in Q4 16 which marked the ninth consecutive quarter that tablet shipments have seen a nose dive. According to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker, vendors shipped 52.9 million tablets in the fourth quarter, which was a decline of 20.1% from the same quarter one year ago.
